I know diddly when it comes to Smallville, but this was a moving piece. You captured a young Lex and, more impressively, a young Bruce, with wonderful skill and sensitivity. The details about life at boarding school were spot-on. The pervading sense of loneliness and fear felt by all the boys was particularily good.
And the ending was surprising and very moving. Great stuff, Smitty, as always.

Very nice characterization. It was AU, but otherwise clean. I almost abandoned it, but with a recommendation from Hope and kept going. And they pay off was wonderful. And then the last line was wonderful, it reflects that Lex wasn't born evil and every now and then pains for what he could have been. I love Lillian fic, and this did the trick.

This was really good, an absolutely wonderful story. It really captured the loneliness and insecurity of such a young age, the uncertaincy of oneself and the debt between two who share something so tragic. I love this. The pain, the trust...I love this.
