I just discovered this story, but so far it's very cute and funny in places. You write Neil well and his dry, matter of fact speech and thoughts are perfect for him. I like the characterization of everyone else too. It's well done.

Best line so far, "Even when I don't respond, he goes on and on." I chuckled at that. Neil's deadpan delivery is just perfect, and it fits the characters. It seems like something Rod would do and is still endearing.

It was also pretty funny when Rod jumped to the wrong conclusion in his conversation with Allen. Even he didn't understand why he thought that, good stuff.

I like how you set up the conflict. Having both of the boys unaware of their own desires makes for some good tension and can lead to a lot interesting interactions. It's great that Neil is discovering his feelings but isn't trying to reject them. I really like how he's figuring all of this out and is just kind of rolling with it rather than having a crisis and trying to deny it.

Chapter 6 has some formatting text in it. This happens to me too when I try to post new chapters. You essentially have to save the chapter, then go back into it and either re-type or re-paste the chapter or else the formatting text makes it hard to navigate.

I just got through reading chapter 6 and I'm glad you decided to continue writing this even though it has been years since you started. It's very cute and I would love to see you finish it.

Why'd you stop? This is AMAZING. I love the stereotypical attitude Neil has about Rachel. And that he realizes he is wrong. But at the same time, he just doesn't like her. And Rod? He's just so emotional. Love it, the confusion, the inner turmoil... He needs someone to help him, calm him down, make things clear. Show him the way. But now that he's hurt Neil so bad, will pride get in the way? Gah! I want to read more of this. Please update soon!

Aww yeah! I LOVE the direction this took so suddenly w. It may have taken 50 years, but it was well worth the wait! I'm also glad you didn't portray Rachael as just a maneater, and actually made her somewhat sympathetic! It would have been really easy to just make her the villian, but this makes it so much more interesting v. Oh gosh, Rod, you have to realise where your feelings are coming from! I can't wait for the next chapter to see how that plays out!

This is really great; I love how you portray all of the characters personalities without obviously injecting your own personal feelings about said characters. That is surprisingly difficult to do! I hope this story gets finished some day. )
