I thought I'd give this story a try, but Harry is drooling after Hermione? Hermione can't chose between the two of them? You said no Ginny/Draco, but Harry/Hermione is just as bad. I am not a huge Hermione fan, but she's honestly awful here. She's so brilliant Dumbledore compares her to the founders and she's pretty and wonderful - sorry, I don't see her that way at all. I can't imagine Harry going for Hermione. He never once showed an ounce of interest in her or any jealousy or Krum or Ron.

Oh, dear. I dislike Ginny so intensely. What a bitch. (And no, that isn't misspelled.) I disliked her in cannon, and I thought your version was slightly more acceptable since she wasn't being presented as a romantic interest for Harry - until the last chapter. I enjoy your writing, but I just can't handle Ginny, so I won't be reading the sequel.

Everything about the relationship presented in this story screams "abusive", "enmeshed", "sick" to me. I see Ginny as a deeply flawed, hateful person who is so self-centered and "entitled" that she constantly grates on my nerves.

Yes, I thought she'd pick Harry. Maybe hoped is a better word. But I'm with the Horcrux on this one. Who'd pick HIM, when Harry and his green eyes were available? (For the record, I have a red-haired, green-eyed husband, and all my kids and grandkids are green-eyed redheads or blonds.) But Ron is a jealous, lazy got in cannon - your version is better, but still. No contest!

As far as the voice issue, I'm sorry but you can't use 'regular' voices now that you are using special voices. It's for the same reason that you can't have a character turn into a lump or have magic hands or have any metaphor spoken that is not an obvious metaphor rather than bogging us down in wondering what is going on when you don't want that to happen. I think for 'normal' voices you are stuck with Suzy wondered what to do, then she remembered what Davy said. No conversations.

Yes! I just tried looking for this on Mugglenet but their fanfic site wasn't loading. This and the following are my favorite fics that I read between 5 and 6 and I'm so happy to find you've posted them here (3 years after the fact but).

A very good story with many interesting ideas, although for some reason I found myself irrationally irritated by Ginny calling Harry: 'Harry James'. Altogether though well worth reading.
