Also are they really going back to their lives on Earth? That seems so wrong! Like they should be able to tell their parents what's going on and say their good byes and move back to cyberspace.
Idk, maybe pop back to earth to visit every now and then? I'm not sure I 100% get how the bracelets work.

Ok I was just gonna review this one and the next at once but hot damn this thing needs its own review.
This is crazy. I can't believe this from a cyberchace fanfic but it's so crazy good and really creepy and dark and honestly really deep with its treatment of abuse and gaslighting.
Well done. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and even though I started reading years ago, I felt every moment of that celebration.
Thank you for giving us such a good finale.

That exchange between Hacker and Inez was intense. He really got to her, even if her conscience prevailed. Matt cuddling Inez and trying his best to comfort her is adorable, but will most likely be a fleeting remedy. That stuff never really goes away - you just learn to deal with it.
The extra time this chapter took really shows; it is definitely my favorite out of the newer chapters.

I've been following this story for a while and gosh! The new chapters really live up to the old ones! You're a great writer, and in my opinion, next to the works of Grand High Idol, this is one of the best cyberchase fanfics out there! Keep going!

Chapter 16

I have to say, I'm delighted to see you updating this. I read it on a trip a while ago, thinking an M rated Cyberchase story would be a joke, but it's surprisingly good. You don't ever stray down the path of making it too edgy or hardcore. The characters are who we've grown to love as kids but older. They're not war torn and gritty, but it's dark and has deep moments. It's not scared to be hard but keep it wholesome enough that you still root for the characters.
I'm happy to see this is still getting updates. It's the only one I'm following that still is :)

Matt and Inez are so cute together, but she's clearly been through so much. A real theme of trauma and abuse, with some sort of romance and a higher purpose as a remedy. As I mentioned in another review, it's always interesting to see how far someone's writing has come - especially with age. Don't be too embarrassed over your old work; they're all stepping stones to where you are now, as well as snapshots of who you were then.
"The Trade" will soon be a saga that has spanned for almost a decade, and it's easy to see visible development and deeper understanding of the characters and themes over time. I am always impressed, but I am also eager for an ending.
As far as what the ending could be, and I don't want to tell you how to write your story, but I'd like to see something "mixed." Happy endings just aren't visceral enough to fit some of the themes of the story, but a totally terrible ending would be wholly unsatisfying. Maybe a working, but troubled relationship between the two lovebirds? Maybe Inez has a sort of lingering Stockholm syndrome before finally getting her revenge? Maybe someone becomes a martyr for the final victory? Maybe the gang achieves victory, only to find that it was temporary? I'm just tossing ideas out there off the top of my head - do what you want with them.
I honestly don't know what you plan for Chapter 14, but I'm sure it'll be good. Hope you're stocked up, and I'm sorry that you're back home. Maybe it'll be a welcome change of pace, maybe it's a logistical nightmare.
Anyway, I can't wait for the next chapter. I'll get my sanitizer ready, as I'm sure it'll be a gosh-darn dirty one. Something's gonna go down.

Please a chapter 14! The story is so good and I can’t be left on this cliffhanger! Does slider get saved? Does hacker harm him or do something else extreme? Will the cyber squad call the rest of their friends to help or will one spy for hacker and backstab them? Plz I need to know!

great start for year one i barely watched Cyberchase when it was on PBS Kids but this is a good story with the Cyberchase gang
