You're trying way too hard to make it emotional and it's having the opposite effect. Not everything needs to be a grand spectacle. Not everyone needs to be special. Naruto simply returning from a training session to find bandits had killed everyone would have been more impactful and shown the reality of life in that world.

Illogical chapter. The priests kill everyone in the village and Naruto let's them go?
I'm sick of Naruto only using kage bunshin and rasengan as well. The kyuubi taught him for a while year and nothing's changed

Mostly good story few problems with it; though you did break a cardinal rule several times. Massive block of text! It got so bad I was skimming the fights they were unreadable.

I hope you have not abandoned this fic, it's really interesting and it would be a pity. I really like this Naruto-detective, it reminds me of Shinichi Kudo.
