Why are soldiers in your story portrayed as stupid and sex hungry men who don't respect women?

is toni supposed to kind of mimic the rdj version of iron man, where she's just tony with a vagina, or is she her own completely new character just with tony's intelligence? because she is nothing like rdj's depiction of iron man. she doesn't have witty quips and she definitely does not lighten serious situations, she's more bitchy and bratty than a misunderstood genius who uses comedy to deflect his trauma. i get that these are supposed to be her character flaws, but at this point i'm not seeing any positives to her personality - mostly just selfishness, insecurity, bipolar tendencies, ability to take things too seriously, inability to take a joke... the list goes on. as a resourceful person, i don't know why tony stark wouldn't take the general's initial offer and get more assistance into helping her get home (without actually telling them how to use it), or at least take steve's help without running two feet and then sitting in a corner frozen to death. she's overly rude for no reason, and she's a coward. she is nothing like tony stark and his cockiness does not equate to her condescending attitude towards anything that has an inkling of negativity. i'm interested in the story but i'm wondering when someone is going to humble her or show me that she's a person worth liking.

Damn that was a terrible plan, Toni. If she knew Steve would be going to the rescue why didn't she just wait for him to show up and tag along on the rescue mission? It's not like she's succeeding when she's unconscious anyway.

I couldn't help imagining the Avengers popping out of nowhere or sticking their heads through a stable portal to when and where ever Toni is, and having the first thing they shout upon seeing her being something like "Antoinette Maria Stark, how the fuck did you invent time travel by accident!" thus completely blowing any cover she'd managed to create and leaving everyone gaping, especially if they recognize Steve.
The reactions might counterbalance the inconvenience enough to have her cackling.

This was great! I loved the premise! I felt like the characters were a little too dramatic, and some words were misused, but overall I thought it was great!

Can we discuss this "don't like, don't read" business for a moment? It seems to me that there are only two possibilities: either there's something objectively bad about the story, or there isn't. If the former, it shouldn't be posted in the first place; if the latter, there's no sense in encouraging people's prejudices by telling them not to read it. Either way, it's pretty silly to *tell* people not to give your story a chance, don't you think?
