It's a nice story, but it reads a bit like a videogame. There's actions Ash takes, but the emotions connected to them are somewhat halfhearted, at least in the sense of how you're writing about them. The ups, downs, and characterizations are what tend to make a story and while this is very nice to read, whatever 'ups' and 'downs' there are don't really feel that way and so far you haven't really gone deep into the characters of any of the people you're writing about, at least not in a way that can be 'felt'. I hope you won't be insulted by this. It's meant as constructive critisism. A story like this could become so much better...
