Reviews for Driven Over the Brink
HappyTrottingElf chapter 29 . 1/3/2013
Great ending! I also loved the previous chapter, it has a bit of a Jane Austen feel to it when she wraps all the storylines up at the end of a book.
Can't wait for the next story!
Louise chapter 29 . 1/2/2013
Lovely ending.
I liked the cliffhanger moment between the chapters when Siobhan found out she was pregnant. That was what I was hoping, and may have had a little bet upon, after Assumpta and Peter had had their little chat prior to getting the tests. But it was written really nicely.

Thankyou for sharing. I will await your new idea with great impatience!
Mcbenzy chapter 29 . 1/2/2013
Oh, this is just wonderful. Ending the story as you started it - with a bang! So much happened in this fic - so many hurdles for our favourite couple, so many life altering events - yet the characters stayed true to the end. There was just the right amount of everything: humour, urst; romance; drama; adventure; and tension, that it managed to increase my interest as I read it.
I can only hope that you have many more fics up your sleeve as I feel you have contributed something wonderful to this fandom.
Margaux Chutney chapter 29 . 1/2/2013
Now that's how you write a love scene!
But seriously folks, I don't think I could have enjoyed a story more. Ever since I first discovered this author, I knew that we were onto something special and i'm so happy that I have been proven right.
As for this story - well, what haven't you achieved?!
It has humour (i'm still waiting for my Peter Clifford cardboard cut-out btw!), heartbreak esp with the sad demise of the lovely Ma Clifford and a rich tapestry of AU characters which fit perfectly with the story. I want to have a boozy lunch with Fiona and Peter's sister!
As for this final Chapter and the already-bookmarked-and-viewed-several-times Chapter 2, I can't thank you enough for opening the M-rated floodgates. You definitely gave me the confidence to write the stories that I really wanted to write.
Right, now on to the next story...
Mcbenzy chapter 28 . 1/1/2013
I love the way you've compressed so much time into this chapter without losing any of the delightful character interactions. I know I've already mentioned how much I like Burt, but he really has been the "balance between the old church and the unchurched".

Only one chapter left? Oh no! Part of me doesn't want this to end but another part of me is itching for the ultimate conclusion. I'm sure you won't disappoint :D
Margaux Chutney chapter 28 . 12/31/2012
Woo hoo! Bring on the M-rated genius.
But in all seriousness, I really dug this story. I loved your take on Peter and Assumpta's romance. Everything from their initial (ahem!) epiphany all the way through to their understated wedding remained true to the original characters.
Great slivers of humour throughout too. Can I get the Peter Clifford cardboard cut-out now your done with this?
HappyTrottingElf chapter 27 . 12/30/2012
Very entertaining chapter, love all the funny asides.
Really looking forward to the M rated chapters to come! It's such a shame they filter M stories out because Ballykissangel should have more, and you do it so well!
Margaux Chutney chapter 27 . 12/29/2012
Ha! You've got to love a cliffhanger.
Looking forward to a revisit to your M-rated roots - and especially looking forward to your next offering, ridiculous or not.
If you're Pervy-Slow McWaffington, I think that makes me your trusty perverted sidekick.
Mcbenzy chapter 27 . 12/29/2012
No whiplash experienced on this end. In fact, I really liked the change of pace; it was really well timed for the story.

The honest conversation between Peter and Assumpta was great - it showed Assumpta for the educated, well reasoned and moral character I believe she was (for the most part) in the show.

I can't wait to see how this story plays out, and what you consider a 'ridiculous' idea for the next one.
Mcbenzy chapter 26 . 12/27/2012
This is so good that I felt everyone's frustration as they grumbled away! I'm really enjoying how Peter and Assumpta balance each other out, and how Fiona and Andy seem to be what Peter and Assumpta could have been had there not been a collar in the way (but really, where would the fun have been in that?).

Every time I see you've posted a new chapter I get annoyed at anything that gets in the way of reading it. I know you have to finish it eventually, but feel free to take your time in getting to the end :D

Oh, and I adore Burt and wish he were part of the original series.
Mcbenzy chapter 24 . 12/24/2012
Reading this chapter was the perfect end to my Christmas Eve. I really like the Andy and Fiona characters, and am glad to see them pop up again. Your humour shines through in this chapter and had me smiling the whole time.
Congrats on the job and thanks for not forgetting us readers while you've been so busy :)
HappyTrottingElf chapter 24 . 12/24/2012
I nearly choked with laughter on my breakfast when Peter's cardboard cutout winks! Also very entertaining conversation between him and the new priest.
Congratulations on the job offer and Merry Christmas. Looking forward to the next chapter soon!
Louise chapter 24 . 12/24/2012
Congrats on the job offer and Merry Christmas!

Interesting mix of characters in the pub. Looking forward to more
HappyTrottingElf chapter 23 . 12/17/2012
Can't say enough how much I love your writing and this is definitely up there as one of my favourite chapters, especially since I'm similarly affected by onions! I'm often in danger of chopping off fingers because I can't see for the tears.
Mcbenzy chapter 22 . 12/13/2012
I absolutely love the way seemingly small/ inconsequential things from previous chapters crop up again later with more weight/ meaning - Fionn's collar here, and Assumpta/ Leo eating to avoid questions in the previous chapter. Brendan's story had me giggling - you've captured his wryness perfectly.
You're spoiling us with this story and how quickly you're posting!
