chiwalker chapter 5 . 7/9/2015
This is honestly one of the more beautiful fics I have read lately...I love how Cas just GETS Dean in this.
Savaial chapter 6 . 7/1/2015
This story touched me in so many ways. First of all, it wasn't recycled themes. A lot of stories are like microwave dinners, predictable. That's nice if you want something to scratch an itch and leave it. But, if you want to be affected, it sucks.

Your writing is not typical, at all. Writers are told to describe instead of tell. "Don't tell, show." But, you went beyond that advice. You made it extra-sensory.

Dean's severe care of Cas-worship wasn't anything but deep, just layers upon layers of being utterly smitten in intense, meaningful ways. He's not taken by Cas immediately just because Cas is beautiful. He sees 'otherness' in him. Quality he can barely understand. And, it becomes a problem, but he still can't let go. It's heartbreaking, the way you did this, because it's so REAL.

And, Cas. Wow, did you touch upon the spark of him. Fragile because he's honest, hard because he's met with misery, but pliant because he's learned that's how he must survive. You wrote him exactly as you meant to, something to possess or protect, and then immediately showed that he could inspire both in just the right people.

As I write this I realize that I paid no attention to anything I usually do when I'm reading. I pick on passive voice, the over-use of 'was', perspective shifts, grammar, all those little things that can harm a story. So, you're an 'invisible writer', which is the best thing a writer can be. I forgot there was an author behind the words I read. That's how well this story hit me. My hat is off to you.

Thank you so much for writing this and sharing it with others. The mood this story has put me in will linger, and now I feel like writing, too. After a big dry spell, I might add. Great work. Seriously.

Ugh, perfect story is perfect. I'd love an epilogue of their first cooking episode.
ivydevoss chapter 6 . 2/22/2013
Totally in love with this story. The way you make parallels to canon is brilliant, and your writing overall is simply gorgeous. I am a large, large fan.

Ha, please write a screenplay or something for "Dean Can Cook" because it would be fabulous! :D I loved this story, and the ending was my favorite part _ I look forward to more stories from you!
precious1075 chapter 6 . 12/8/2012
THIS STORY WAS AWESOME! Sweet and intense; interesting and with just the right amount of angst. Castiel's back story should have been unbelievable, but you did a great job with it. I Soooo see him as an ice-skater. Dean's emotional baggage about being left was so well done and heartbreaking! Even the drag queen plot was well thought out and realistic. I loved everything in this story; our main characters, Gabriel was AWESOME and Sam and Jess were great. I wasn't sure about the alcoholic Sam storyline, but you did a wonderful job showing us Sober Sam without assassinating his Canon character. I loved this story and fully plan on recommending it to everyone I know. Thank you so much for sharing this! Have a great night!
Sunfeather Angel chapter 6 . 12/6/2012
I certainly didn't waste my time reading this :) But I think perhaps Castiel was a bit too OOC, but my oh my did you make me laugh so many times! :D
Thank you for sharing your wonderful story :)
snowin' you chapter 3 . 12/5/2012
I love Sam-Dean moments and Sam‘s smart advice here. The idea of Cas being a coach beats the idea of Cas being a drag queen, forever anyway.
snowin' you chapter 2 . 12/4/2012
I have nothing against dragqueen!Cas, or dragqueen in general. But you had made Cas a stunning figure skater, one of the very few sports I enjoyed watching and highly respect and think whoever think the sport is unworthy should be banished from the face of the earth. Then you dethroned him, to become a dragqueen. I find that insulting to the sport and particularly the player. (How merciful of you for not turning him into a stripper considering his ‘movement‘ skills.) And then.. and then you had him sing the song I said won‘t get out of my head as long as I still see your story title. Like, 24/7 won‘t-get-out-of-my-head and I can hear every words of the lyrics. Hell, I hear every single note of it and what you described didn‘t even cut it. And I can‘t... Can I just crawl to my grave and bury myself there?
darkphoenix2345 chapter 6 . 12/3/2012
Perfect ending! That was quite a shocker with Becky turning out to be the head cheese's daughter. Loved Gabe's comment about being the puppet master and the part when Cas applied make up on Dean. I loved the entire story!
snowin' you chapter 1 . 12/2/2012
Argh, you updated this too soon. I haven't started the first chapter and the story is now completed. (My bad, actually. Don't mind me, lol.) You know every time I see your story title, that song pops up in my head. Like it was nagging me to read so that I can get rid of the music in my head. XD

The first chapter looked really interesting. I like the idea of "The Family Business" though it was quite unusual to put Sam as a former alcoholic. (Did I read it right? You meant Sam, right?) Dean's thoughts, especially regarding Castiel, were hilarious! It didn't realize at first when you shifted POV from Dean to Cas so I had to re-read a few paragraphs. His POV was interesting too, though now I'm not sure whether he was a alien from Mars or what not. :D

I'm a slow reader so bear with me while I slowly crawl through your story, 'k?
pinkskyline chapter 6 . 12/1/2012
Thanks for posting such a great read! For being an AU story, your characters were more true to their characterization on the show than in a lot of "canon" fics. You really have a great handle on Dean and his motivations. My only criticism really comes from a place of admiration; I loved the way you wrote Castiel when you wrote from his perspective. Since the bulk of the work is from Dean's perspective, I sort of missed hearing more about what Cas thought...You really write about love in a unique and evocative way, and especially I thought from Cas's inexperienced eyes.
darkphoenix2345 chapter 5 . 12/1/2012
It was awesome you incorporated The Little Prince and the theme of free will into the story. Ash is a great friend to Cas and I am happy Sam and Jess are engaged. Can't wait to see how Destiel's story wraps up. :)
