sheesh; this is sad. and we ALL know that Elena LOVES Damon. So that means she LOVES being a vampire.

Great insight. It's surprising that Elena didn't turn her switch off all by herself, because as a human she knew she was, at least, indirectly responsible for the deaths of her family and friends. With her emotions heightened (thank you Stef for pointing that out five million times) you'd think this alone would have crippled her. So, strength of character or lack of insight by the writers?

There were a lot of lines I liked in this, especially at the begining, but I think the last line was the absolute best.

So, I figured tp myself, "Why read just Inevitable when I can read everything she's written?"
And that's exactly what I'm going to do. Read it all. Everything that you've writte. That has to do with Delena. So, here it goes.

The last line was kind of the nail in the coffin for me. This is nice, but it kind of makes my heart hurt.

This was amazing as always. Every line carried deep weight and meaning, from the two sides of the same coin, the real crimson coating her hands is not that of Connor but of her family and friends that have sacrificed themselves for her, to the black leather that hides all the weight in the shoulders. Just beautiful and poignant.

She wants to hate being a vampire, everything she used to be as a human and every lie she's told herself over the last two years are screaming that this is wrong, she's a monster, and that she should have let herself die time and time again. But she didn't, and she can barely even muster the strength to admit the truth to herself: she likes being a vampire. She relishes in the strength of knowing that she is now finally strong enough to protect those she loves, and she will bare the consequences of those actions happily if they are alive and safe.

Her love for Damon is the exact same thing. She can't let herself admit it because this wasn't supposed to happen, it wasn't what she wanted. But he builds her up and gives her the strength to be who she is and can be, and is finally willing to take the consequences for those feelings whatever that may be.

So, she hates being a vampire, just like she hates Damon. She doesn't hate either at all, she just can't admit she loves them both more than she wants to or feels that she should. If she can't admit it to herself, how could she ever admit it to us? Reverse the lies, and you'll find the truth right in front of you...

That last line, perfect. She's a great Damonette!

OOOH! I LIKE IT! It has Delena undertones, but it's much more of a character development on Elena's part. Very nice!

Just love this. The sanity with which Elena recognizes her hallucinations and the reasons behind them, just brilliant. Impressive insight and maturity in this story, that could very well be exactly what is going on behind Elena's weepy blood smeared face.

"I hate being a vampire. The same way I hate Damon." Perfect ending to the other side of the coin that we see on the show.

Great story, not if only CW would take some notes.

I didn't like the ending of this. It's a good story, but I didn't like that she hates him. I get it, he's a scapegoat, right? I love the line about black leather disguising weight - brilliant writing. But I hate that she hates him. So sad the way they are with each other sometimes. I think you stayed true to the show's characters and their way of doing things. Excellent work, even if it's not a snuggly story.

Wow that was super depressing. I think I'll need a hug a puppy after that one to counteract all the angst. It's sad how Elena can't see that what she did was necessary and likely saved many lives. Elena obviously needs to hug a puppy as well. Anyways, great job as always.
