elsa3beth chapter 2 . 10/28/2013 great short story - loved the depiction of a contemplative frodo |
shirebound chapter 1 . 4/7/2013 I re-read this wonderful tale once in awhile, and am very glad your stories are still online. This one is truly a timeless gem. |
Aria Breuer chapter 2 . 3/20/2013 This was a good story. I kept catching spelling errors in both chapters. The two spelling errors I caught that were obvious were "Rivendale", which is actually spelled as "Rivendell", and "Sauruman", which is spelled correctly as "Saruman". Other than that, the story was fine with the plot balanced over the grammatical errors. I'm glad you kept Frodo in-character for this story. I can see how this story would relate to what is happening all around us, as there are too many prejudices. It's no wonder I'm still defending hobbits, and even Frodo since I can hardly think of anyone else, especially in our time, who could have carried the One Ring. I liked this story, merely because it really does make you think this question that many would choose to avoid. Good work. -Aria Breuer P.S. I'm going to put this story, 'The Quality of Mercy', in my community. This was fairly well-written, in spite of the errors, but the plot did balance that out - as I've said. Also, the question stands out well, but I like how this story makes readers think. I hope this is all right with you? |
Larner chapter 2 . 8/5/2012 Frodo was so well named! Good for him as he seeks to demonstrate the mercy he has known granted to himself. |
Lightnin Spark chapter 1 . 9/27/2011 This story is beautifully written, and really honors the works of Tolkien. It even makes you question if the motives of war are just, and I love writing that can make people question their own thoughts. I loved your frodo very much here. It's hard to find Fics with him potrayed spot-on, but I believe yours is one of the amazing few. Your story deserves way more reviews, I mean seriously people, this is fantastic! |
w- easy enough chapter 2 . 9/30/2006 wow, I love it! Frodo rocks. gives me a nice feeling, ya' know? :) |
cccahill18 chapter 2 . 8/31/2006 I can really picture this as a missing scene from RotK . . . you really did a wonderful job with Frodo, perfectly in character. Kudos! -Hannah |
Team Sherlock and Watson chapter 2 . 12/14/2005 Wow! I never thought of Frodo being portrayed that way. But I am not to sure about how you portrayed Aragorn althouogh it may be just me. Somehow I can't picture Aragorn being that way, he seemed too uncaring. Other than that it was a good story. |
Frodo's sister chapter 2 . 12/26/2004 You did a good job describing Frodo's mercy. |
Kriszta chapter 2 . 12/22/2004 Hello, Tulip, I am Kriszta from Hungary, and I am a fan of The Lord of the Rings, too, like you. I like reading fanfictions in English, although it is not my first language. I already have my own Star Trek: Voyager Hungarian fanfic page, full of my translations from English into Hungarian. Recently, I started another one, in the fandom of LotR. I would like to publish your story "The Quality of Mercy" on my page at the time of Christmas, of course with your name attached as author, and link to your e-mail address and other stories. But I need your permission. This story is fantastic! Please, give me an answer! |

lilpip chapter 2 . 3/18/2004 Wow. Wise past his years, heck yah! This has made me see past Aragorn's thinking, and into another perspective. I think Frodo is right. Go Frodo. |
Keshka chapter 2 . 2/15/2004 I don't suppose this will ever be updated.. :) But I live in hope.. |
redirectbeckyswebdesign.com chapter 2 . 1/13/2004 Whoa! I think I got a lesson in there along with a good story. You have a great "Frodo" voice. The wording came off sounding very much like I think he would have sounded in a situation like this. One of the best parts of this story is you didn't go into tons of niggling details explaining all sorts of bits and parts. You left it up to the reader to understand a good portion of the story. Most of us do know this story inside and out, so thanks for not bogging us down with the details but for giving us a good read. I read this story because it was recommended in a Live Journal set up to recommend good hobbit fiction. community/lotr_fic_recs/ This story was recommended in Week 2 ~ G and PG fics. |
