Ondine de la Mer chapter 5 . 11/30/2016
This doc was hands-down wonderful. Cunning Loki, and yet so inexperienced. Manipulative, but unable to understand non-violent attention and the intentions of his own family. It is a shame he grew up in this particular society, because they don't appreciate Loki. Their society is fairly homogeneous from what I can tell, and they have trouble understanding the type of bravery that is knowingly drinking poison, confronting assassins, and the strength of character to do so without receiving any credit for his actions at all. This society, based on straightforwardness and brute strength, is ill-equipped to understand someone like Loki, who has a different, but equal, set of morals and who cares more about results than method(i have sympathy for this way of thinking). I don't approve of everything he did, but I assume that those are mistakes of inexperience, and for figuring this out all by himself, I am impressed with Loki greatly. It is the equivalent of Sir Isaac Newton inventing calculus or Thor becoming one of the greatest warriors of Asgard by reading from books and self-experimentation(I guess. I admit, I have far less of an appreciation for training one's body than one's mind. Strength is useless when you're too stupid to know what to do with it, and shortcomings of inferior resources can be overcone through cleverness). His failings are just as interesting as his sucesses though. Tricking himself into believing that Odin has employed him as a spymaster? His feelings of self-doubt, inability to connect with and understand his family, the mistakes made in his inexperienced fumbling, his struggles socially, ECT. A believable Loki, whose feelings of self-doubt, bitterness, frustration, and people's underappreciation and mockery of him could eventually lead to the breakdown we see in the movies(seriously. In this case, his family failed him big-time). Beautifully written, but also so, so sad. Im going to go silk in a corner now, then come back in a day or so for more beautiful writing and complex character development.

Oh, Loki... *hugs him* Though, he has a point - he's not sick or weak, he's much stronger than he appears. Let him fight and he'll destroy everything on the battlefield.

I don't even know who's really at fault here...Loki is partially, but Odin isn't exactly great either. He hasn't done anything wrong, but he's not seeing that Loki's not a child anymore. Thor's pretty terrible, insulting Loki constantly...

Amazing, but I have mixed feelings about what went wrong here (in the story, with how Loki got to that position, not with the story!)...

Well, that was depressing :(

Very well written, but depressing none-the-less.

Hekka chapter 1 . 10/15/2014
Eh? I thought that Loki is supposed to be the smart one. Head of Delegation is not just committed social faux pas, but barely started incident between the two realms (hardly the only Odin was outraged: sure Loki not Thor, but he was still a prince of Asgard) when his direct work is to establish favorable for his people diplomatic relations. So it is quite obvious that as soon as the ambassador sober up the next day, he would have done everything and more to not degrade the existing agreement (including sacrifice some interests of his people as an excuse - to avoid prolongation unpleasant incident).
So I don't get him there...

I really enjoyed reading this fic. It's well written and gets to the heart of the character that is Loki. After all none is more susceptible to the Liesmith than himself.
I look foward to reading more of your MCU fics :)
