You know that the "Babe on the Doorstep" thing is straight out of fairy tales, right? Because that's clearly what that was meant to be, with Dumbledore being the fairy godmother...of sorts. No one questions why the fairy godmother leaves the babe on the doorstep, but it's always a massive problem in Fanfiction.

A democracy? I don't recall the books saying anything at all about the wizarding world being a democracy. Also, in my experience of actually being one, British people don't really care all that much about the royals.

Do you read crossovers? "Baker's Dozen" is a Harry Potter/Criminal Minds crossover that has Harry being practically adopted by the Royal Family AFTER he leaves Hogwarts. You might enjoy it.
