Reviews for Revenge of Grahame Kipps
EvilVampireDucky chapter 20 . 4/30/2013
I seriously loved this story; oh so much. Thank you for writing it, as well as being talented enough to do so.
LadyLuly chapter 20 . 4/21/2013
Ehhh I'm so sad that this is over! Where will I ever find another good Woman in Black story that updates so regularly? Oh well, I'm sure there will be other good stories, but I'm still going to miss this one. I was very pleased that Grahame and Ffion named their daughter Emma (in my head, their second child is a son and they name him Arthur) and I appreciate that you tied up the loose end with Jennet... even though it lessens the likelihood of a sequel (sniffle).

I'm assuming the scene with the face off and Jennet's apparent guilt and eventual shimmery exit was sort of her realizing what she had done and feeling terrible but also sort of coming to terms with what happened to her in her life and because of that she was finally able to move on. I like that as an ending- it resembles my (admittedly optimistic) interpretation of the end of the movie , that Jennet killed Arthur and Joseph so that they could be with Stella and after that she would be done killing, except your ending has more closure. Although it looks like my interpretation was wrong, since they're making a sequel. Speaking of which, I, personally, am pretty angry about Angels of Death. I don't think it will do the original story justice and I feel like the movie makers are just doing it to bring in money. I heard that the original premise of the se movie was a couple in the 1940s moving into the house, then I heard that the house was being turned into a hospital for mentally ill WWII soldiers, and THEN I heard that it was supposed to become and orphanage. Like for children! It's like every time they came up with a new premise, it got more twisted, and I know it's a horror movie but come on! That's not even plausible... oh well, maybe they'll surprise me and the sequel will be fantastic. I doubt it, but one can hope. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on Angels of Death- feel free to send me a private message, since you won't be answering through author's notes anymore! (sniffle again!)

I will most certainly give you that shout out as soon as I update my story! Unfortunately, I've been writing pretty slowly lately, but it will happen. Eventually.

Anyway, as you know, I enjoyed this story a lot and thank you for posting it and sharing it with the world of the Internets. I know you said you probably wouldn't write a sequel, but I would LOVE to read this from Jennet's perspective. I'll be on the look out for other stories from you. Happy trails!
Halia Stone chapter 18 . 4/20/2013
Awww, this is almost over? Damn it... Oh well, all good things come to an end eventually. I liked at the beginning how you had three different POV's going, and Jennet's was the best in my opinion, a little sadistic, and a little dark. Perfect. I was a little disappointed to see that the getting rid of Jennet was just stumping her, but it was good nonetheless, and Grahame did bring up some good points though. Well, I'm sad to see that this is almost ending, maybe you could do a sequel or something where Jennet really does come after Grahame and freaks the living daylights out of wherever the hell he lives (I can't remember) or she somehow convinces him to "come to the dark side (there's cookies!)" and he sees everyone he's lost or something like that. Just an idea, though.

I'll be back to review the next chapter, and probably what you post afterwards if needs be.

- Halia-Jessica. :-).
LadyLuly chapter 18 . 4/14/2013
One last chapter? That makes me sad, but at least we have some closure for the story now! I could see you writing a sequel about what happens when Grahame comes back to check up on Jennet or when her delay is finally over. Maybe? Please? Anyway, if it's alright with you, I think I'll give you a shout out in my own story, tell my readers they should check this story out.

I always imagined Jennet getting pregnant as the result of a teenage-love-affair-type-dealio - that is, they thought they loved each other, but they were too young for that type of commitment and what not, and when the guy learned there was a baby on the way, he took off. I could also picture her having an affair with a guy who pretended to love her, but didn't... I hope she wasn't raped. That would suck. A lot. Anyway, I enjoyed Sam and Grahame's speculation on the subject. There was a tiny bit of explanation in the book, but really not a lot, so the world may never know...

Oh, and thank you for not killing Grahame. I appreciate it :)

So this was the plan that he was so reluctant to use against her? I'm guessing he was reluctant because it's difficult to talk about your family dying off, even to a crazy ghost lady. Oh, and I liked that she didn't get killed (or whatever the ghost equivalent of ceasing to exist is), because I like Jennet, even though she's psychotic.

Well, if you did update before next Sunday, I would certainly appreciate it, and hopefully this time I would be able to review more quickly. -sniffle- I sure am gonna miss this story!
LadyLuly chapter 17 . 4/13/2013
Whew! Sorry for the late review- you wouldn't believe what a busy week I've had. I've been reading this chapter in chunks since Sunday and I didn't finish until late last night, and then I fell asleep. Which is testament to how tired I was, since ordinarily I would never have been able to fall asleep after reading that!

I can't believe there are only two chapters left! Please, please don't kill off Grahame... even though then, he could be a ghost with Emma and they'd be all happy together... and it would be just like the end of the movie! But no, because Grahame has a wife and unborn baby at home. He can't leave them unsupported! There probably wasn't a huge job market for deaf women back then... Also, you can't kill off Grahame because that would be too depressing for the Dailys. Think of Elizabeth's health. She's very delicate right now.

I don't get why everyone keeps calling Jennet a slut though... I'm pretty sure she only slept with one guy in her life. Maybe that's why she's so mad.

I appreciated the reappearance of the scene from the prologue. It all makes so much more sense, now :)

Hey, guess what! I was about to be sad because I had to wait a week for the next chapter... but then I remembered you're updating tomorrow! Then there will only be ONE chapter left. Oh goodness...
Halia Stone chapter 17 . 4/11/2013
Hey, it's me! Sorry I'm late reviewing, but I saw that nobody else had reviewed (maybe your other two regulars might have by the time you update) and I felt bad, especially seeing as the chapter looks good enough for you to have spent a long time on it. I know you'd wrote them before hand, but I'm betting it didn't take a few minutes like some people seem to think. I reckon some of my readers are like that, and I bet alot of yours are just too lazy to type something in this bloody box. I mean, it could only be one word, but it's still nice to see, right?

Alright, pep talk over. Review time.

I loved this chapter, and I think I can safely say that this one is my favourite chapter and part two of the showdown is gonna follow. I know you haven't posted it yet, but I'm sure it's gonna rock, you haven't disappointed me at all, and I think you (although I was really mad about it to begin with) took this story in the right direction with killing Emma. Believe me, I know how hard it is to kill a character, i'm writing a book, and the main character dies, and in another one the character was already dead, but I still had to kill her. But yeah, it's hard.

Hmm, things I liked about this chapter. (I'm trying to make it long, but not too long 'cause I don't wanna bore ya, and you're like "oh, that chick who writes massive reviews is back" XD)

I liked the part where Jennet became life-like and punched Grahame. If I was her, I would have done worse than that, but yeah. And the bit where they were both in the kitchen had me on the edge of my seat. And, I cannot believe you dude, Grahame might die!? Nah, I'm kidding, but it made for a good cliff-hanger though. I hate 'em and love 'em at the same time.

I also liked how Grahame saw Emma's ghost, it felt like he had some sort of closure, even though she didn't say anything. I also liked how Grahame's rage was giving him darker thoughts, that's always interesting to see, because at first, I thought Grahame was quite a calm bloke, but then all this rage built up overtime, and then... BOOM! Firework time!

And even though I like Jennet, I liked the home-truths Grahame told her, but I'm still on her side, so I will kind of condone her actions in a way. She just wants someone to understand, but the only one who does in Grahame, and he's pissed at her now!

Poor woman's never had it easy, first her sister says she's mental and can't look after her kid, said kid gets taken by her sister, and then Alice leaves him to drown in the causeway, but yeah, I do agree with the fact she's not the only woman who's lost a mother. Thousands now have, thanks to her. Although, I thought about something you said in an earlier chapter about her being something left behind by the actual Jennet herself, and that the Woman In Black isn't really Jennet. Because I get why she kills kids, but I'd rather torture Alice if I was her. But maybe Alice had found piece so Jennet couldn't get to her?

But all in all, great chapter, and I can't wait until you update! Sorry if this review is really long, but it's better than nothing, right? :-)

- Halia-Jessica.

P.S: If you remember those stories I mentioned on posting for this archive, I was busy so I didn't have time, but if you want to read them, they're called "Roses are red" (it's a poem, probably really stupid) and the other one is called "Killer's always have motives" and it's Jennet's point of view from the train station scene.
LadyLuly chapter 16 . 3/31/2013
Emma no! Well, I have to say I was not expecting her to actually die. Props to you for not being predictable... I'm gonna go cry now...

And another cliff hanger?! Why would you do this to me SoulVirus? (And a little voice answers faintly, "the chapter had to end there, Luly, because if not it would have been very long and you haven't finished your homework, even though it's after midnight." And I know in my heart that the little voice is right.)

I'm cherishing the hope that Emma will come back as a ghost somehow. She can have ghost playdates with Nicolas and Joseph and Nathaniel. Arthur can be their ghost chaperon. This sounds lovely actually, I'm starting to wish I was part of this little ghost family.

That mention of Grahame's wife and their baby has me worried though. I'm guessing that means they will be a major part of the story again soon, but I'm half hoping they won't because that could well mean that they will die (Oh but if they have a girl, can they name it Emma, pretty please?) and I just don't think poor Grahame can handle that. I think I mentioned in one of my first reviews to you all the different ways that the characters in this story deal with death, and I find it both interesting and scary that Grahame's reaction was more similar to Jennet's than anyone else's, what with being angry instead of just sad and instantly seeking revenge, but I think that was a really cool way to write his character. And speaking of that revenge (oh my god, The Revenge of Grahame Kipps, THE TITLE MAKES SENSE NOW!), WHAT can this mysterious plan be? I must know, SoulVirus, the curiosity is eating me alive!

Great chapter. Please oh please update soon. I know you do it weekly... but still.
Anera527 chapter 16 . 3/31/2013
No! No no no no no... Emma! Why did Emma die!? Ah, that made me cry! I was really thinking that maybe Grahame would finally get through to Jennet, but it looks like you fooled me. But Emma! Grahame seems teetering on the edge of insanity right now. I just hope this is able to be solved before he's totally lost.

The chapter was just as good as always, and you're certainly making me antsy! How can I possible wait until next Sunday? :/
Halia Stone chapter 16 . 3/31/2013
Holy freaking hell you updated! I thought you weren't going to, and I was literally checking my email all day for an alert, and then it popped up, and I shot straight over here. And thanks for the mention again, it's no problem. Your story doesn't have as many reviews as it should, and if I could (stupid one review per chapter rule) I'd review it over and over again.

And know onto the review...

NOOOOO! THEY KILLED EMMA! (South Park reference) But I suppose it was good, because now Grahame's angry, although I'm still trying to wrap my head around why Jennet would actually be scared of a living person when she's a Ghost who could just walk through him or something. But yeah...

And then with the conversation, you almost had me for a minute, and then I remembered from the movie that she had said to Alice through letter's she would never forgive her, and I was waiting for it to come up. (Are you in my mind or something?) O.O

Oh, and Grahame's rage afterwards - priceless. But now, I have to wait a whole week. Sigh...

- Halia-Jessica.

P.S Don't worry about reading any of my Kickin' it stories or TVD stories (unless you want to and are into that kind of stuff) because I've got a Woman in Black story coming up soon. It's just a oneshot, nothing big. It'll be out sometime next week.
Halia Stone chapter 15 . 3/28/2013
Oh woah, Jennet's gonna make Emma kill herself! But yeah, this chapter was awesome, in alotta ways. I'm really intrigued to see how the ending going to go, and whether it'll mirror how Arthur died and Grahame will be reunited with his family. It sounds wierd, but when I watched the movie, I got the sense that Jennet killed Arthur and Joesph as a mercy killing, because he'd lost his wife and Joesph had lost his mother. I also thought of it as a thank you (I'm not crazy) because Arthur had given Jennet her son back, so she chose to give Arthur his family back.

I know, sounds crazy, but it's plausible. I'll be back with a review when the next chapter's up! :)

- Halia-Jessica.
Halia Stone chapter 14 . 3/28/2013
Aaannd the plot thickens, you really do know how to keep suspense up. The parts in Jennet's mind really cleared some things up for me, but I'm still debating on the whole did she love Nathaniel thing or not. I also liked how you explained why Jennet couldn't touch Emma because she had, had no parents, but Jennet can touch her now Grahame has adopted her.

- Halia-Jessica.
Halia Stone chapter 13 . 3/28/2013
Yay, we finally learned who the hell Callie was, it was driving me mad. And poor Grahame, losing his family at whatever age he was supposed to be. I liked the backstory and Grahame's father's reaction to him wanting to be a Paranormal Invesitagator (sounds like something I'd do, or go and study "Ripperology") and the part during the flashback when Grahame said that he still had Arthur to look up to. That would explain the bond between them.

Great work!

- Halia-Jessica.
Halia Stone chapter 12 . 3/28/2013
Aww, thanks for the mention, I love your pen name too, and as for your recovery thing, I'm glad your back, and writing can be very theraputic. Alrighty, on with the review.

The burning church scene was just... woah, I literally have no words, it was that amazing. And YAY Arthur made an appearance, but Grahame's still as stubborn as ever (it's gonna get him hurt or killed, I just know it. Call it Gut Instinct). The whole Jennet just broke the rules thing was awesome. There really is more to her than meets the eye (despite what everyone at my school who's watched this said).

Emma still puzzles me somewhat, she gets scared by Jennet, and yet Jennet cannot touch her (I'm still wondering on why she let her go. I swear if you don't explain that, I'm gonna go mad.

And I'm worse than Jennet... Just kidding. :P

- Halia-Jessica.
Halia Stone chapter 11 . 3/28/2013
Oooh, drama, the church is burning! You were right about this chapter being creepy - the spiders were a nice touch by the way - but I'm wondering why Jennet didn't kill Emma? But I was "awwing" at the part where Grahame said Emma could go and live with him. It was a sweet undertone to the dark side of the story. And the snippets in Jennet's POV were really amazing, and I'm still wondering if she really did love Nathaniel (and I'm still thinking she did). You do a really good job of spicing up the plot.

- Halia-Jessica.
Halia Stone chapter 10 . 3/28/2013
Fantastic chapter and amazing imagery. I liked how the house seemed different to Sam than the last time he was there with Arthur. I think it would be a good idea to add Arthur as a character later on, he could just appear as a vision with Joesph and Stella or something, and Jennet could be playing with Grahame's mind or something.

Just an idea.
