Metamorphic Jenny chapter 10 . 9/7/2018 I love all the ladies in this story! and the action is glorious! |
Guest chapter 2 . 8/29/2014 You really should give warning if this follows other stories you've written. Also, the wizards are not mortals who studied magic. They are Maiar who were sent to Middle Earth by the Valar. I expected better of you. |
Marcus S. Lazarus chapter 10 . 9/16/2012 Interesting idea, I’ll give you that. The opening created an intriguing image of the villains of this story, answering the questions about their past while simultaneously providing little in the way of DEFINITE information about their abilities and nature- aside from being good at hiding, anyway-, to say nothing of giving them an excellent vendetta. Lothiriel made an interesting addition to the pre-existing cast, reflecting that ‘intermediate’ stage between being human and being a wizard that so few really explore, to say nothing of the conflict between what’s expected of her by society and what everyone wishes she could be allowed to do as individuals being analysed and explored in an excellent manner. Your analysis of Easterling society was as exception as I’ve come to expect from your writing, creating a portrayal that perfectly fits what we’ve seen of Middle-Earth, and the mystery of their new ‘allies’ was well-handled even before you revealed specifically what they were planning to do (Considering how successful Saruman’s control of Theoden was, it’s almost surprising that more villains haven’t attempted mind-control as a method of conquest). Subsequent developments as the women of the Fellowship find themselves alone against their friends and husbands are excellently handled, their fear of causing harm to those they love contrasting well with their refusal to abandon them to become something so utterly opposed to what they stand for normally, and Lothiriel’s addition to the group works out as superbly as Melia’s addition to Arwen and Eowyn’s initial quest in this series, forcing them to rely on an original character with skills uniquely suited for the situation (All credit to you for avoiding the temptation to make Lothiriel too powerful and emphasising the fact that she’s never successfully attempted a spell like this before). The final confrontation as both Easterlings and Gondor’s natives work together to defeat the skin-changers was very effective, particularly when Lothiriel managed to pull herself together and save the kingdom while securing her future in both respects into the bargain, and even if the aftermath wasn’t as encouraging as it could be, at least Gondor itself remains as stable and secure as ever. Once again, an exceptional story that uses new characters without over-emphasising their role compared to the characters we’re already familiar with; keep up the great work! |
rae-rae89 chapter 10 . 3/8/2011 This is an absolutely awesome story! Full of all the things a good story needs:action, suspense, and romance. :) I can't wait to see what else you've written Scribe. |
x-Rose-Tyler-x chapter 6 . 10/31/2005 This is good so far. I like seeing someone writing about the strength of the women of Middle earth. |
lina.ines03 chapter 1 . 8/22/2005 i applaud you... |
IceAngel7 chapter 10 . 8/20/2004 Greatly enjoyed this story! I just had to read it all the way through (not very helpful to my work) but just too good to put down, as it were. I discovered it through the fave list of someone else and I'm very glad I did! I suppose I'll list off the things I enjoyed most :D Arwen, this is my favourite portrayal of her I have read so far - and I think this would be because you manage to maintain her Arwenness despite throwing her into a completey oposite situation to any the character faces. It was a great experience and I think she came out of it very well. I love the pace of the tale, it moved along at such an exciting rate, I couldn't stop reading! I think Legolas was also done very well, as although he was highlighted as the one who gets to fight on the 'good' side at the end, he wasn't raised above the women in hero status etc The bits i enjoyed most were the confruntations and the feelings of the 'wife' characters in these sections. The Aragorn/Eowyn battle earlier on was probably the one that stood out the most for me. Lothiriel and Melia were impressive and felt very real. hmm I enjoyed pretty much everything about the tale (I would have loved much more faramir but that can't really count as a critisim :D ) yep, so thankyou so much for a great read, this one's certainly going on my fave list! M-X chapter 10 . 12/22/2003 I really enjoyed this story, it was very well written and it was great to read, you have a great way to describe enviroments and emotions, but also I have some comments: about the structure you repeat certain things a lot, like situations you over explain, also, about the story, it would be really difficult for Eowin to have done all of what she did with her broken ribs... but well, let's say she is too stubborn :P, also I would have liked to see Aragorn asking her for forgivenes :P heh heh, and Lothiriel being recognized for her father, but well, I really enjoyed it, pleaso go on woth the next part ;) and sorry if there are mistakes, english is not my first languaje |

M-X chapter 4 . 12/19/2003 This is just too great! what an excellent story, I am really interested but it is late (here in my country at least) and I need to go to sleep :P |
Suslin chapter 3 . 3/4/2003 Ugh. I can't stand how good this story is. Just so well researched, I could just accept this all for truth abd be happy in my ignorance. I tried to write a story after the War of the Ring, but I suppose reading other people's stories is more satisfying. sigh. This is such a great story I could cry. Darn it. |
Siberia1 chapter 10 . 2/18/2003 Awesome story. Totally gripping all the way. I commend you for your wonderful originality and your desire to make the women strong and heroic. So often we see the men's point of view, and this fan fic is so refreshing. Your attention to detail is superb, and I love your style of writing. You are one of my favourite fan fiction authors, and I must say that your incredible work puts all of mine to shame. Please continue to do so. :) |
Jedi Honor Bound Ninja chapter 2 . 1/25/2003 A BEARD? (falls the floor in a fit of laughter) -Insane Muse (who is laughign to hard to say anything else) |
Pseudonym Sylphmuse chapter 10 . 1/10/2003 To finish a bad thing just to begin another. When will this ever end? Your pen name is well put since you area skilled scribe but this was not a bad PG-13 it's a better PG. *Sigh.* Now I will have to wait until I am at least fifteen to read your rated R stories. There is a line limit that I cannot cross and am still not so willing to do now. I'm adding you to my favorite authors list. |
Pseudonym Sylphmuse chapter 7 . 1/10/2003 Couldn't Lothliriel have just tried to cast a sleeping spell and make all the people in the room retch? It would've been easier to deposit that vile liquid out, succeeding in their plans. Simple as that! Wonder why you didn't do it? |
