I read this on tumblr and was happy to see it here as well, but was not very happy to see that it looks like it'sgone unappreciated! What an injustice. This was a really great piece for a number of reasons; for one, it's very well written. In each section Tarrlok's character shines through his observations and actions. Two, in that vein, it's great to read a take on the councilman's young adulthood and career, and how the childhood we saw in the series affected the course of his life from boyhood to adulthood. Last, I thought your depiction of Tarrlok's relationships with Korra and Noatak were spot-on. These were dynamics that I thought were woefully undeveloped in the series (given their potential), and I love to see talented writers take them on and flesh them out. Anyway, really well done, and I hope to read more of you in the future. Take care and good luck with your writing.
