I had a real connection to this story because I am actually hearing impaired. I really enjoyed it. You didn't make being deaf a bad thing. You made it seem like something that no one should be ashamed of. I really appreciate it. I've learned things from this story. | SoraOblivion62 chapter 8 . 5/14/2015 I just wanted to say how impressed I am so far in how well you've captured all the nuances of someone who is deaf; how they interact with people, things around the house like lights and the vibrating pillow being a couple examples. One of my best friends is partially deaf and he says many of the same things that you have Tori saying. So I don't know if you just did a lot of research on deafness or you or someone you know is hard of hearing but this story is really well-written from that perspective. Kudos to you :) |

I was listening to an album by the band Alesana and they based their album after that poem.
