A Shieldmaiden of Rohan chapter 4 . 9/14/2018 This fic makes me want to hug Obi-Wan and smack Anakin upside the head. |
Translator-Lost chapter 4 . 5/12/2017 ... This story incredibly increased both my strong dislike for Anakin and my unconditional love for Obi-Wan. I want you to know this is an amazing fanfiction, and I think you portrayed the characters very well :) |
Brievel chapter 4 . 5/19/2015 No, he cannot save everyone. |
Brievel chapter 3 . 5/19/2015 Mace is really a softie at heart... |
Brievel chapter 1 . 5/19/2015 Ah, Hondo - my sister never could understand my soft spot for you. |
Nanuk chapter 4 . 6/23/2013 So much doubt there ... but what a brilliant character study, not just of Obi, but of all the others as well. How I wish for more! :) Well done! Thanks! |
Nanuk chapter 3 . 6/23/2013 Awww, that was lovely! Shame on Anakin that he heaps blame on poor undeserving Obi-Wan! Shame! :) Way to go! |
Eryndil chapter 4 . 2/6/2013 I hadn't read this one so I'm glad I found it. You write these introspective pieces so well, with a good grasp of character and some very thought-provoking insights. Anakin really annoyed me in this fic (as he has been doing in your current one!) So very self-obsessed and opinionated. His thoughts about needing Obi-Wan to be strong were spot on though. I love your characterisation of Mace. It's all too easy to make him 2-dimensional but you give him an inner dialogue that makes him a lot more realistic. I'd never thought of him being similar to Obi-Wan, but I can see what you are saying and I think it would make him sympathetic to his fellow master, as you show. I also like the idea of Mace as a bit of a surrogate master for Obi - Force knows the poor guy needed someone supportive after Qui-Gon died. You portray Obi-Wan very well, both man and Jedi. You always seem to point out those aspects that remind me why I find him heroic, and admirable, and tragic. It's like an intelligently written riposte to those who suggest that he is unfeeling. I particularly liked his musings on what makes a Jedi and how you showed his relationship with the Force - I think you capture Jedi philosophy very well and it really highlights the contrast with Anakin. If only Obi had a bit less self-doubt, poor man. I want to wrap him up in a soft, fluffy blanket... |
The Wayfaring Strangers chapter 1 . 1/28/2013 Aggg! Aggg! It's Hondo! The Pirate's name is Hondo! Not Honda! He's not a car, he's a person...ish. Please fix your summary. Spelling mistakes from qualified and gifted authors... historically not awesome, to quote Tony Stark... |
Geri K chapter 4 . 1/20/2013 Such pain for one so beautiful a true Jedi suffers alone, his guilt is all he has to remember. Why does he carry the burden of everyone's lives on his shoulders. Truly a Chosen one of the Force, our Obi-Wan. |
ruth baulding chapter 4 . 1/19/2013 For the love of heaven somebody find the man and hold him tight... beautiful protrayal of grief in a soul that has been well and truly formed in the Jedi spiritual tradition - doubt remains, and grief, but one can see the smoothing and deepening of wisdom as grief wears down youth into maturity. And hsi last thoughts are, I am sure, on all of our minds, too. What will Maul's fate be? |
GreySilhouette chapter 4 . 1/19/2013 Wow. Very philosophical, especially at the start. And just as I was beginning to think - isn't this a little too detached? - you come out with a paragraph like, "And – oh, blast it!" and abruptly the distant philosophising before it becomes a coping mechanism instead of coldness. Brilliant. And his knowledge, and frank acknowledgement, of Anakin's doubt of him...it hurts. He doesn't deserve that. Then there's: "It is the warmth that promises death is not an end, but a beginning: fear not, not now, and not when it comes for you. Death is only coming home." Both very Jedi, and very Obi-Wan, especially considering that he gave up his life willingly to allow the Falcon to escape, and became a Force spirit after. It's like he sees life as one long tour of duty, and death as that final, long awaited return home which lifts that burden - only even in death he still ends up looking after the living. Actually, I'd never thought of it quite like that before...thanks. Grey |
nineteennintytwo chapter 4 . 1/19/2013 And you have completely nailed Obi-Wan's character in this :) Thank you for writing this little story. |
poisonivy7 chapter 3 . 12/28/2012 Wow. Your insight into these characters never ceases to amaze me. I was rather ecstatic when I saw your name next to the title (which honestly I didn't know what to make of initially) and sure enough it was totally worth it. Hondo's chapter was a real treat since I'm not terribly familiar with him, but it was FUN. And each chapter's character insights are not only perfectly in tune with the character themselves but all reveal very different things about another- Kenobi, according to how they see him and what they value most. A really brilliant read. Thank you! |
RKB chapter 3 . 12/11/2012 This was really well written and in character. You really hit the nail on the head when it comes to the characters personalities and faults. The way you wrote this was simply beautiful. I look forward to seeing this continued. |
