OrangeSunset1701 chapter 1 . 11/8/2015 I love stories with Lestrade! Well done with this. |
BooksAreMedicine chapter 1 . 10/22/2015 Good support and nice job showcasing their relationship |
Obscured Angel chapter 1 . 3/15/2014 Very interesting perception of the events of this episode. |
CosmicEssence chapter 1 . 1/19/2014 Excellent perspective piece for both these characters as well as the comraderie of the two. |
blueskydog chapter 1 . 12/6/2013 Very nice, very well written. I was always disappointed that John's reactions to everything are not explored more. This sounds a lot like something that would have (or should have) happened. |

jack63kids chapter 1 . 9/13/2013 Excellent prose, as always. And a great study of an 'unaired scene', which really could have happened and makes good use of the actual dialogue, without being derivative in the plot. I love the way you portray both John and Greg and the way they interact with few words and much understanding. Very fitting. I'm trying to pick two or three fav passages/phrases but I stopped at paragraph one as I wanted to include the whole - I might as well cut and paste the entire fic! |
TorchwoodPride chapter 1 . 8/6/2013 Just rewatched the Hound twice, to see what the graveyard scene was like in relation to the story arc between John and Sherlock. I enjoy your story, and I agree there is a period where John is still 'under the influence' of what he breathed in, down in the lab. Thanks for this story. Your observations make me watch the show again, having learnt some more. Cheers |
Louey06 chapter 1 . 7/31/2013 This was good It's nice the two of them have someone to turn to. Someone with whm they can share a companionible silence. |
librarywitch chapter 1 . 6/26/2013 Well done! I do so enjoy the series Lestrange so much better than cannon. |
akurosa chapter 1 . 11/19/2012 Lovely. I think my favorite part is 'Lestrade glanced over at him. "Stay or walk?"' I feel that Lestrade and John can connect in ways Sherlock can't really understand due to their careers and this fic got that perfectly. Lesstrade's not patronizing John and John lets him near because John feels that in some sense, Lestrade really gets it. Moving on, prompt request. Hmm.. I remember the scene where Sherlock tells Anderson to turn around because "You're putting me off." It was hilarious, as all Anderson bashing scenes are, but that scene also made my head-canon Sherlock have sensory overload problems. If that's even a word. So maybe something about that might be fun to write about? We have John, who can stand the people and boring everyday everythig hat but also John who flinches at specific things like sand or the sound of explosions(no matter how small). Then we have Sherlock who doesn't blink at explosions(the bigger the better he says) but can't stand the mundane little details and sounds and colors. Thanks for this update! |
Schmiezi chapter 1 . 11/12/2012 A lovely character study. Well written! |
hjohn302 chapter 1 . 10/30/2012 I have read, and read, and re-read this piece. Over and over again. Each time I pick up another nuance. You have done an amazing job here. How the drug could have affected John, how the events could have affected Greg, and how it brought the two of them together... The details you put into this were fantastic! I found myself controlling my breathing right along with John! I am sorry I didn't review sooner, but I just needed to read this for a while and let it soak in until I had words to share. I'm not sure that I have all that many that are valuable right now... but you do such an amazing job of character study, picking up such little nuances that when I go back to watch the scene or scenes you refer to, I am able to see them too. Your stories are rich and full and have such depth, I am drawn in and just can't get out of them again. I would love to see a companion piece... John's reaction to realizing Sherlock was the one who locked him into that lab. We see a bit of it in HoB when he's eating breakfast, but you have to wonder how in the world he let Sherlock off so easily... and what happens when they get back to London. Especially in light of this story, and the damage the drug did to him. "those little, openly weary shifts, more than the breathing alone, that told Lestrade something much more damaging than their mutual experience at Dewer's Hollow had happened to John that night" that line right there is what makes me want to know more when he figures out Sherlock "locked him in that bloody lab." :) I don't know if that is a prompt for you, or if you're "muse" will take you that way, but that is my first reaction. :) If I come up with any other ideas, I will send them your way! :) I am thick in the middle of a mammoth story myself, and if I try to deviate away to something else, I'm going to lose my momentum... so maybe I will pass along any plot bunnies to you! :) |
Sci Fi Fan chapter 1 . 10/28/2012 I am always glad to see a new story from you. You are so attentive to the details in your writing and in your characters. Your stories just flow and are a pleasure to read. "He didn't kneel, nor did he pray. He….acknowledged. Marked lives lost and mourned them." This was such a nice bit of writing. It gives good insight into Lestrade's character and is so well put. Thanks! |
CM chapter 1 . 10/26/2012 Wow, I have to say, I love your stories! I actually just recently discovered your...can't even think how...but have fallen in LOVE with your stories and read all (Sherlockian) stories in under a day. I am very happy to see that you still write. You are a wonderful, well-thought out writer and it's clear to see how much time and substance you put in these stories. I really hope you continue. While I don't have an exact prompt, but maybe you can write about what happened before the Pool scene. I mean John was missing for 6 hours. i know some writers have already done that but I am sure that your version will easily out do any other stories I've read on that subject! :-D Either way, I hope to see you continue in this amazing fandom. On a happier note, Season 3's hints were released and I can't wait for Sherlock and John to make their long awaited appearance next year. And will also certainly see The Hobbit. :-D |
