thewritingwanderer chapter 1 . 3/28/2016 Ohmygosh! I had actually went back and read this before but never reviewed, so sorry! I really love how you write Clint's POV. The humour is true to character with the ironic, dry sarcasm. :D I also question things like this. (Especially being in Africa, I see the stuff going on and I'm just like, "?") And the way he pointed out those reasons to Hill about why would they protect him in the first place? (Also, when Hill kept saying, "We don't pay you to think." I was thinking it was a bit harsh, but I realized they're not friends yet. :P) That line in the last little bit! "If you want a dancing monkey, sir, I know a circus." XD Oh gosh, that was so great! (And Coulson was totally laughing internally.) I love that Clint was surprised that he didn't get fired. XD On to the next one! :D |
kamarooka chapter 4 . 12/31/2015 Loved this fic - thought it was a really great venture into Clint's psyche :) would love to see a sequel of some sort |
Night of the Dark Star chapter 3 . 6/21/2015 Hey, Alpha Flyer, huge fan here. I love your stories despite not often reviewing them as they're all great and I hate repeating myself (especially since we only get one review per chapter and I like rereading things). I found a mistake with your French translations. " "Ç'est vous, encore!" a tight, breathless voice comes out of the SUV. "Ç'est la deuxième fois que vous m'avez sauvé la vie." It's you again. This is the second time you have saved my life. " It's "C'est". There's not accent on the C. |
Miss Hiraya chapter 4 . 4/28/2015 I think this is my favorite version of Clint's take on how he was /unmade/. There's a good amount of angst, not excessive or lacking. Perfect for me because I need a break from those. There's well-thought (genius) plot and action sequences (GOOODNESS, you have no idea. It's hard to find a good and unique plot, but i'm extremely overjoyed when i find one. It's like I've just had a lucky day) and I had never been discouraged to read such a long chapter because damn I'm too engrossed of what's to happen next. Like, i cannot tell which is my favorite chapter. They're all too good. I also like the your take on how Widow and Hawk met- the lines, the actual meeting. You portrayed them so well and on my opinion, very accurately. Clint is awesome and badass throughout the story- i liked how he gave a lecture, rant, and pointed comments to prove that he's not some uneducated carnie (or flying monkey) to be ordered around just because- while still maintaining his human points. Aaaaand I may have loved Clint-whump stories, but this. This is just brilliant because I love badass Clint above all else. Oh, and they "Mr. And Mrs. Barton" part? I cannot just forget that. Though i have long ago accepted that they're just into a platonic bond, i still can't stop getting happy about this little part ehehe. The interactions of the characters are great as well. All in all, I jusssst loooove this story to biiits and pieces. Such a masterpiece. Deserved all the love and reviews. Thank you for the treat! |
Knyle Borealis chapter 4 . 2/28/2015 Oh, Phil... . I really loved all of this. You are amazing. Thank you! |
Knyle Borealis chapter 3 . 2/28/2015 I was in love with this one from the Barnes and Noble/red shirt references. |
Knyle Borealis chapter 2 . 2/28/2015 Aw! Phil! I love you so much, you wonderful, wonderful man! How dare they kinda-sorta-impermanently kill you! |
Knyle Borealis chapter 1 . 2/28/2015 Glee. Just...freaking...glee. And I mean the emotion, not the TV show. :D |
Theatre chapter 4 . 2/26/2015 Oh My God. This is them. This is exactly how they would act and exactly what Barton would think and its so cute and so sad and so beautiful. You are perfect. (I'm working my way through all your stuff by the way because you're such a good writer.) |
AustralianRanger012 chapter 3 . 2/3/2014 Operation Abidjan. The footage. That was a brainwave if ever there was one, well done! |
Guest chapter 4 . 9/16/2013 So I finally made the "Avengers" plunge. You were right - it's pretty awesome. And I'm kind of in love with Hawkeye now. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed your writing! I hope you're doing well. |
Dahlia chapter 4 . 8/4/2013 Excellent. Like you, I prefer my fics with a little bit of teeth, and reality. Fluff has its place, don't get me wrong, but I usually don't prefer it. The post-NY fiasco walk on the carrier carries more truth to it than all the Hawkeye-allowing-himself-to-get-beaten-up-by-cowor kers-'cause-he-is-angsty fics, and I thank you for that. By the by, the Juan Valdez to Exxon Valdez line is hysterical. Thanks. |
Photogirl1890 chapter 4 . 7/8/2013 I like Barton's thoughts on Thor and Stark at the beginning. Is all good. "who measures time in the service of truth?" "mark the ledger, then shut the drawer until the account falls due" - nice That whole Loki-control section was pretty creepy. Very appropriate final line. |
Photogirl1890 chapter 3 . 7/8/2013 I particularly liked the observations: "They're partners, where they used to be solitudes, and it works." "toxic blend of tribal and personal resentments masquerading as a political cause." "At least Clint hopes his fellow agents are dead; mobs are capable of worse things." "Dupré obviously did not feel very secure in the love of his people." and that's affecting stuff at the end of the ch. with the injured kids. And then the lighter moments: "Barnes and Noble " "Starfleet issue red shirt." ! Great writing |
Photogirl1890 chapter 2 . 7/8/2013 Clint Barton reading Shakespeare? hmm, finding that hard to picture! But, some bits that stood out: Clint's swearing changing from "cluster munitions" to "smart bombs" - nice one! The ref. to that region (Georgia/Caucasus) as "a place where the earth shakes as often and as violently as the political landscape." "Clint wonders briefly what it's like for the people who live here, carving moments like this out of a world too often shattered by men for whom peace means business lost." "Her future, focused in a point of black metal." "reason lies sprawled across the backseat, carefully cuffed and still tranqued." "Just throw her out of the jet. We're still over the Atlantic." - chilling |
