Wonderful stuff. I am a massive sucker for a bit of sickfic! And this hits all the lovely sickfic targets for me, and is very well written.

For concrit, and very nitpickety stylistic reasons, I'd consider losing "it wasn't supposed to be this way", since it doesn't really add anything to your narrative and holds up "Kakei hadn't warned them..." which is a much stronger sentence. I'd also cut the word "strong" about Rikuo's arms, since if he's easily lifting another adult/near adult, that's implied. The other thing I'd consider is changing the formatting to make your A/N stand out more, because I was a little confused about where the fic ended and your A/N began...

I really enjoyed that! It was a deep, thoughtfull contemplation on a good subject and it was very well written. and youre right, his character definatly speaks to you due to how insightfull youre ideas are.

I can tell Rikuo speak to you, you got his character down amazingly well. I loved this. It was so well written, and the characterization was spot on. I always believed Rikuo really does act like this; on the fence about his feelings for Kazahaya, and not willing to ruin whatever relationship they have now with his own desires.
