Guest chapter 13 . 2/29/2016 Hello. Just want to say that this is one of the best Loki and Clint stories I have read. I hope that you will figure out what you want to do with it and go on. Please. Read it twice now. Will keep an eye on it, hoping...well Clint did promise it would be just a few days... Many thanks £££ |
ngocquevt chapter 13 . 6/19/2015 Don't stop, it's getting good right there! I love stories where Clint and Loki befriend and you're doing it perfectly here, the relationship changed from hate and wary to annoy and fun and now they seek comfort in each other's present. I really really want to see more of this and where it will head to. |
Nock and Bolt chapter 13 . 4/21/2015 Hey-so I don't know if I have reviewed this yet (I probably have like three times, but whatever). Anyways, I really like your story, and considering the last chapter you posted was over a year ago, I thought that it was probably a good time to remind you that there are people waiting on your story out there, to know if/when you might update, or if the story is abandoned and whatnot. I understand "real life" makes writing difficult, it's just that I have kind of read like every single Clint-centric Avengers fic several times now, and yours is one of the better ones. I just don't want to see that story fizzle out (and I want to know what happens next!). Either way-listen to me, don't listen to me, doesn't matter. But please at least let us know whether you plan on continuing this story or not, and maybe when you might update (if you are). |
KusajishiFukutaicho chapter 13 . 3/29/2015 Hmmm, tbh, I think that when you wrote in third person pov, it was much better than the parts in 1st person pov(Loki). It is pretty hard to write 1st person pov well, and...yeah. You write a decent third person pov though. It would be awesome if you just continued in 3rd person pov all the way. |
abyphile chapter 13 . 1/31/2015 Oh, no. It sounds like at least some of the mythology is true. I hope it's not "tying him down with the intestines of his own child" true. I prefer backstory that doesn't actually involve birthing a horse and fathering monster children (although having shape-shifting children are a possibility). Killing his children by Sigyn is just over the top. I hope he wasn't treated with that much brutality. Just his torture under the venom of a giant snake is plenty enough. I hope you give us the story behind this. Is the punishment related to Balder? Did he exist in this story and did Loki have something to do with his death. Was it an accident? |
abyphile chapter 12 . 1/31/2015 Oh, I hope this is where the Avengers get involved. Clint's going to need help and his teammates are the only ones who won't try to turn on him, although it's definitely not a sure thing that he can convince them to help either. |
abyphile chapter 11 . 1/31/2015 I'm glad that Clint is sharp enough to instantly control is expression. Well, he's not a master spy for nothing. OK, what science is served by continually opening the wound in Loki's side? |
abyphile chapter 10 . 1/31/2015 You've got to love Shield, turning a sentient being into a lab rat. I'm glad Clint was able to mentally connect with Loki again. Unfortunately, if he shows any sympathy to Loki, Shield is likely to end him. And what's with that? Why would they kill him? Wouldn't they even try to give him a decent life, even if they couldn't use him as a field agent and had to somehow contain him. Boo, Shield. |
abyphile chapter 9 . 1/31/2015 Uh, oh. I don't know what kind of grief Loki is bringing onto himself by fighting Shield but I can't really blame him for not wanting to let himself be taken under their control. I have to admit that I received an inordinate amount of pleasure to see hand-cuffed, silenced, magic-less Loki kicking ass. Well he should, since he has been a warrior for a thousand years. Loved the reference to Ghostbusters. |
abyphile chapter 8 . 1/31/2015 Whew. Well that punishment could have been worse. Guess this isn't "total dick" Odin, but instead just "hard-assed, failure as a parent" Odin. Still, he could be turning his son over to torture. I'm still not sure how deserving he is to still be proclaiming himself Loki's father. I notice that Odin didn't tell Thor that Loki never had his chance to speak, even though Thor asked him what Loki said in his defense. I wish Thor could let go of his blind faith in Odin. Loki indeed committed some heinous acts as king, although he truly was technically the king at the time. Personally, I think Loki was truly mentally unbalanced at the time, but I'm not sure if Asgard recognizes mental health issues. I suspect not. The most disturbing action, of course, is trying to destroy Jotunheim. I think of the flashback shown in the movie, where young Thor says that he will someday slay all of the Jotuns. Odin tells him that a good king does not seek out war. Wait? How is that telling your son that killing Jotuns is wrong? I would probably interpret that as "Yes, we would all like to kill Yotuns, but you must be wary of seeking war because it could cost Asgardian lives." Odin may not have spoken of the Jotuns as monsters but I suspect he didn't do anything to counter the general sentiment of Asgard towards Jotuns. I think learning of his heritage just broke Loki's brain. Sometimes I wonder if Loki was just desperately trying to hold himself together, but just one thing after another kept escalating the situation out of control. He ended up feeling like he was literally betrayed by everyone and destroying Jotunheim by Bifrost was probably his attempt at ending the war in the only manner he felt he could as a king without a single loyal subject. Oh, no. Clint is haunted again. I would have hoped that the peace he found would have stayed somewhat with him, but then again, maybe this is to help prompt him to wonder about what is happening to Loki. The Other comes to Midgard and Loki will be in no position to help himself or anyone else. Not good. |
abyphile chapter 7 . 1/31/2015 Loki's description of what is was like to be without his magic is painful, mesmerizing, and entirely what I pictured. I shudder to think what Odin might have in store for him. Completely loving the water balloon fight. |
abyphile chapter 6 . 1/30/2015 This is really what I have always pictured happening to Loki. The scepter didn't take him over in the same way as Barton. Even after the weakening of torture, it probably wasn't possibly to make Loki think that his only desire was to please Thanos. Instead, Thanos had to find the chink in Loki's armor. We could see in the Avenger movie that the scepter had the power to magnify negative emotions. I think it was designed to magnify Loki's negative emotions as well. If it pushed any actual thought into his head it was "You want this. You want this deal; the Tesseract in exchange for Midgard and the respect that would give you." Thor wants to go to Asgard to speak with Loki, but Loki undoubtedly has his lips sewn shut at this point. I really dislike that punishment or even just keeping the muzzle on him. That is so dehumanizing. It doesn't just stop him from using his verbal weaponry. To me it says "Your voice has no worth. You have no worth. You are a non-entity." Loki observing that his enemy will believe him before his own family is just heartbreaking. It is even more heartbreaking that his family couldn't even be bothered to hear him. |
abyphile chapter 5 . 1/30/2015 So, now they know that Loki just recently found out about his adoption. They still don't know that he is of another race and what that other race represents to him and to Asgard. I'm glad Clint brought up the eye color. He must be feeling a lot better, that he would even think of uncovering something that could potentially help Loki. |
abyphile chapter 4 . 1/30/2015 Love the back and forth banter here. |
abyphile chapter 3 . 1/30/2015 Yep, Loki was talking about both of them, just like he did with Natasha. |
