Oh my gods. This is just beautiful. I'm sorry, but freaking beautiful. So thoughtful and carefully written yet it seems effortless at the same time.

I like it! Especially the first half, great capture of that slowly settling feeling of dread and how it evolves into full despair. The blue cupcakes broke my heart! (who would've thought that was a good idea? her siblings?) I like the determination and hope in the form of the Argo II (planning! very in character) and the not-quite-fitting two halves after the reunion.

In my opinion it could've ended after 'bit by little bit', because now you have sort of a decline, perking up, then going down again, then perking up again, then going really low, and then going up definitely, but unlike the first 70% the last 'arch' feels a bit rushed. Also I don't really believe going after the mark of Athena rifted their relationship as dramatically as you put it, but that's just my experience of the book :)

But, because of all th other good things, I'm gonna move to that.
The metaphor was great. I always loved metaphorical fics, and this is no exception.
The imagery, at some points, was just superb.
