So good... I liked Charming’s evolution, even as the overprotective dad. It was nice to see how their rapport built up, and it was nice to see Emma stand up and own her relationship with Regina. I really enjoyed this. Especially Charming’s “transformation.” It was perfect!

I absolutely adore this story. I love how slowly Regina and David are able to come to an understanding and start working together. It feels very true to their characters. I wish we had gotten something this nuanced in season two, but the writers of the show aren't nearly as good as you are at putting characterization (instead of plot) front and center. And watching Regina slowly unravel was heartbreaking, but I love how David responded to her. Overall, this story is absolutely perfect. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Someone recc'd this and i am SO glad. I never visit the pit anymore and this is such a fantastic story I'm so happy I didn't miss it. The first two chapters are just heartbreaking, but you do a fantastic job of painting Regina through Charming's eyes. And Charming is well...Charming, but you still make him sympathetic if somewhat frustrating. Really lovely fic!
