I was going to wait and just tumblr comment but I can't. I'm reading through your stories backwards to present and I'm overwhelmed by these oneshots. So many of them that I haven't read and this one...just how you describe in quite few words yet so very vivid how Kate must have felt at that moment. When I watch the episode I don't think that much about their missed moment, I just think of a general insecurity about their relationship and that it's still very new and raw (and secret). But when I read this it adds another layer, it makes total sense that she could have felt insecure and thought about their missed chance to go there and that by "other women" she meant Gina. This is why I love fanfiction, it can add another dimension to the characters and to the story without disrupting what we see on screen. Beautiful!

Beautiful! Really lovely. Series-wise, I have mixed feelings about Kate telling Castle later on that she wanted to go away with him and in general how she felt in season 2 (I'm split that way on several of the things that they don't talk about directly... despite that I do want them to communicate better! so over-complicated...) but if it were to happen, I think this is a really sweet way for such a scene to play out. I would have been happy to see the conversation unfold like this. I love how "in this" she is. And she really is. So wonderful. Thank you!

Oh yes, great missing scene! Why didn't they show this? In my head something happened before the pool scene. After all, they were changing out of their clothes at some point, which I somehow don't see them doing too far away from each other. And then it's got have been a bit distracting... ahem to not do anything else while changing. ;) Maybe your insert was time 1/2 before the pool ;)
A girl can dream anyhow. And your story helped shape the story. Great work, keep going :)
