dmwende chapter 12 . 8/4/2014 I know this story is way done and over with, but just want you to know that it's very enjoyable. I love most any great Vegeta/Goku story, such as this; I love the developing brotherly love between them. You don't need the same blood running through your veins to experience true sibling-like affection and bonding. However, concerning Bulma, I feel like you just threw her character smack dab in the middle of the story just to have a Bulma/Vegeta love story running through this whole thing. You had Goku and Vegeta's relationship develop at a good pace, overtime, while having absolutely no development for Bulma and Vegeta. They fell for one another entirely too fast, making Vegeta seem kind of weak and not as in control as Vegeta fan's would like him to be. You had Bulma throwing herself at him with Vegeta caving in like a softy and already believing they are in love... It was very rushed and very un-Saiyan-like of Vegeta, in my opinion. There should have been some hard work and time on Bulma's part - not conciously, but unconsciously - before Vegeta even picked up on anything concerning her other than her technological genius being an asset. Vegeta and Goku (as well as the other loyalist Saiyans) have so much more serious life concerns going right now to deal with that Vegeta should easily be on lock-down regarding all the other stuff. Maybe if you had Bulma come in to do her job, shedding light on how her genius helps to take down Freiza, continued to focus on the already consuming and brilliant side relationship developing between Goku and Vegeta, allowing Vegeta and Bulma's relationship to take focus and develop at the end and segway into their own separate fic, that might have been a sound way to weave her in. Initially, I don't see Vegeta being worried about this at all right now, and possibly not even Bulma. This story was brilliant without it, with it's inclusion only seeming to weaken the seriousness and realness of the Saiyan's situation a bit for me. But, other than this, really great story! |
