Love this story and that Dean can't stop helping people!

Another beautifully written piece; this one shows the brothers and Cas in a way that I'd love to see: content. Too bad the show's writers don't want this for them.

I LOVE the way you write Castiel, he's perfect! This is so so so lovely, thank you so much for writing it! Dean rushing off to save the day is so true to his character, and I adored your depiction of Castiel's concern as he waited at home, and his relief when Dean called.
The way these three love each other and show their affection is just so lovely, I can't get enough of it. This story gave me some much needed warm fuzzies, thank you again.

I can see very clearly the scenario you paint of the boys and their angel retiring to some out of the way place- to stay alive- and yet getting pulled into a dangerous situation because civilians, especially kids were involved.

Jared and Jensen always say that they expect the Winchester to go out with a bang whenever the show ends. But I can see it happening more in line with what you wrote. Them, going in to save civilians, with all their experience of battling the Supernatural and getting taken out by two lucky shots from human scumbags. Tragic- but in the line of duty.

"When I was a kid, my mom used to tell me when she tucked me in that angels were watching over me. Were you?" Oh that question gutted me, only Dean, with that low velvet voice can ask something so heavy with the innocence of child.

And this is my favorite line: "When Sam appears with his long hair unruly and in his face, he beelines straight to Dean and wraps his arms around Dean's belly, standing behind his brother. No warning, no words. Dean's standing at the kitchen counter near the coffeemaker, two clean mugs in front of him. He goes still and smiles. Sam makes a humming noise, chin on Dean's shoulder."

I love the pure love shared by the 3 men in this fic. After their violent lives it is only what they deserve and it is true but outside looking in most people would not understand. Probably due to attributing our own emotional baggage onto the situation rather than any truth. Their lives seem rather idyllic but not easy.
