Actually, pretty sure they 'did' detail the Outer Gates at one point or another.
Outer Gates are the edges of reality. Alternate timelines/dimensions exist, and can be reached through the Nevernever.

You have made a mistake in this chapter: the Nevernever and Faerie are not one in the same: Faerie is merely he subsection of the Nevernever closet to the Mortal Realm. Faerie is a part of the Nevernever, but not all of the Nevernever is Faerie.

I fully agree that you should be apologizing for hating the TV show. However, I fully understand your rage against cheap knockoffs. It was like the PJO movie - the electronic media was actually pretty good( albeit with crapy SE) but you can't help but think about the book it was based on, which is simply better in every way.

And now it makes sense. Xander is descended from some lost dimensional wanderer.

I've never really been able to decide how I feel about that tv show. But the actor that played Dresden has had his face permanently welded to the character in my mind, for better or worse.

Good start. I especially liked that Xander has the standard wizard tech problems... But suddenly wonder what Willow's work around is since she works a laptop without issue.

This is good fic. I'd complain about the year long wait, but I've got readers waiting after longer than that, so I'm not in a position to whine, otherwise, I'd be totally annoying ;)
