Oh, this is precious! Merlin's reaction to Arthur's, uh, lack thereof was hilarious, although I think it's kind of sad Arthur had to resort to such drastic extremes just to get him out of the dungeon smh. Anyway, great fic and thanks for sharing!

Awesome! Absolutely awesome!

THIS was a good "Arthur finds out about magic" fic! Not that there aren't other, and not that I don't love the angst (and yes, this had angst, don't get me wrong) but THANK YOU! Finally a fic where Arthur doesn't turn into a dork-head who throws however many years of friendship out the window because of the word "magic." THIS is how I think he would react.

This is definitely the best "reveal" fic I've ever read, no contest :D It's original, insanely hilarious, and oddly touching by the end.
The way Merlin just believed Arthur would execute him was believably in-character and yet so sad, but Arthur's final genuine "reaction", when he was yelling at Merlin for being an idiot who's a powerful warlock and doesn't use his powers to save his own life - that was the best moment. I really wish it was more something among those lines in the show - not the ridiculous role-reversal for their respective reactions, but Arthur giving Merlin a free benefit of a doubt. For all those years of service, saving the royal family's lives openly on several occasions and unbreakable loyalty you'd think Arthur would be willing to hear him out from the start. Well, perhaps Arthur being shocked more than anything should be his first reaction, I think. "Incompetent" and "sorcerer" doesn't really fit together, and he should be at least baffled. But the effect Arthur's casual acceptance affected Merlin was so amazing I can't complain about it xD
In short, I love this story. 10/10, great job, high five, you're awesome! ;)
