We also know that Lucy always showed up as an ally in Eagle Vision.

So I think Lucy was loyal to the assassins and to Desmond, personally. In fact, they may have been falling in love. But the Others foresaw/wanted him to be with another woman. And so, Lucy was removed.

This was... different. In a good way though. And despite everything we've seen in this great big world that is Assassin's Creed, you still managed to bring another layer into the absolutely marvelous character that was Lucy Stillman. Congratulations. I'm very pleased with the end result. An amazing read for a one shot or anything for that matter. It was too easy to get engaged in the story and too hard to finish it. But it makes you think twice about Lucy. This makes the game feel lacking in the detail department (I can't even believe I'm saying this). To be honest having said all this, I don't even know how to finish this review, so I'll just say congratulations once more and I hope you keep writing amazing fics like the one we saw here.

I agree, Lucy is what made the AC series, because she's what made the 2012 story, and the 2012 story is what made everything else. The sole reason I started playing at all was to see her get together with Desmond at the end... A fate she actually deserved. I'll never forgive Ubisoft for what they've done, and even less so for the cheap, disrespectful, disgusting plot twist involving her.

But, fortunately, we have the time with her that we did get, and the ever-increasing pool of wonderful FanFictions written by such wonderful authors as yourself, and that's something Ubisoft can never take away from us.
