Ok, I'm officially in love with this history and how you have conduit it. Love the way you have been building up the relationship between Femshep and Liara, so slow, so smooth, so natural.

I will drean you continue this sometime, somehow. Please, it's so good to just finish there.
Thank you very much for it.
Sima0193 chapter 12 . 10/18/2015
It's a shame this died, it's an interesting slight AU take on the events you covered while still keeping to the canon timeline (Minus the Leviathan, but at this point we can't really tell where you were going with them, could've been over all 3 games) and general theme of events.

The characters actually felt more realist in this story compared to most, in a lot of stories the interactions usually come across as forced while the interactions here seem to develop fluidly.

It would've been interesting to see you tackle ME2/3 as well, maybe post-ME3 instead. As I said, it's a shame. Definitely one of the better writers on .
Chikiko chapter 1 . 7/16/2014
I've really enjoyed this story and after decided i missed reading it had to begun a long search for it. I could n't completely remember the name of either it or you. so i had to search page after page. but once i saw the title/author name i instantly remembered. please continue this story as i am quite interetested in reading more of it. (else i wouldn't have gone to page 19 to find it ) it is actually worth searching 19 almost 20 pages for. Obviously real life may be playing a big role, which is understandable. just know that I and may others eagerly await.
Planetar chapter 12 . 5/18/2014
So I found this story via Liara topic on HTL. What happened to that topic, by the way? It seemed to have just... died. Which is a shame, it seemed like a good place to be and one I'd happily participate in.

Anyway! The intro itself was the first sign you take this seriously and it was quite a pleasure reading it. Maybe that makes me weird, but really, it was an interesting insight into a mind of a person and I enjoyed seeing some of your thoughts on how you envisioned, well... pretty much everything. So yeah, I don't know if anybody told you this, but I honestly enjoyed reading introduction, no matter how long it may have seemed. I may disagree with you in certain aspects of it(like Liara's "obsession" with Shepard), but that does nothing to lower the value of it.

Moving on, I very much like your portrayal of Rachel Shepard. It's always nice to see more complicated Shepards, not the fully paragon and not the fully renegade ones. The mix of two extremes is always more interesting to read about and I feel like you managed to find a nice mix for your story. From what little I've seen so far, she can be a little bit of a jerk at moments, but generally, she seems like a good person. Given all she's been through, that's quite understandable. On a tangent, I noticed Sole Survivor seems to be a very popular background between fanfic writers. I guess it offers a good mix of tragedy and inspiring story of survival against impossible odds to make it such an appealing choice. In any case, you've got yourself very interesting protagonist there.

I very much like the fact that you chose to portray her as straight. While I have nothing against Shepard being portrayed as lesbian even before meeting Liara, there is a whole lot of stories like that out there already, so seeing something different is a breath of fresh air and very welcome. And it's also nice to see Alenko get something else than just scoff and grief he often seems to get. He's one of my favourite characters and it's always a pleasure to see a story that treats him nicely. Those too seem to be in short supply around here. From this perspective, your story is very pleasant to read.

As for Liara... well, she seems to be little less naive in your story than is usually the norm for the ME fanfics. I can only support that. As much as I love her awkwardness and shyness in the first game, it's nice to see her a little more grown up. And I do love a slow build up of the relationship between her and Rachel. I'm eager to see what you plan for these two in the future installments and there was promised character development. I look forward to seeing what you're planning. If I return to intro again, you said something about Shepard stunting Liara's development. I wouldn't say that's the case in the game, but I do believe Liara helps Shepard develop her character. That's(partly) why I like her so much. She makes Shepard a better character.

Lastly, the AU elements of your story. I find it interesting for you to tackle Leviathan so fast. And making connections with Cerberus so fast and so direct... gutsy. But big risks bring big rewards and you've shown yourself to have a plan for this. In the game, connection to Cerberus is minimal at best, so I'm assuming Rachel will have bigger emotional stakes when the second game rolls around. That should make things more interesting. So all I can say is, I like it and I want to know more.

It's been a long time since this has been updated and I hope you still have plans for finishing it. I would dearly like to see more of your characters and your world.

And I hope this won't be too direct for you, but... you seemed like an interesting guy, from what I've seen in the aforementioned HTL thread. I don't have facebook or twitter or HTL account(and I believe you're not hanging around that place anymore anyway), so this is pretty much my only way of contacting you. I'd be interested in talking to you and getting to know you better. If you ever read this, drop me a PM, if you feel like it.

But in any case, I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do. Be it writing, life, love... anything really. It's been a pleasure to read this story and I hope to see more of it, but just knowing there are people like you out there makes me believe that there is still hope for this world. A hope that is, at times, hard to keep unto.

Emerald Stag chapter 12 . 6/20/2013
I've been enjoying reading your take on the ME universe, especially the gradual but ever increasing moments between Shepard and Liara. I like the additional opportunities of melding and how they've been a useful way to help with the visions as well as grow the bond of friendship between the two. I also adore your characterization of Ashley, she's funny and wild and provides a level of teasing and meddling that is especially entertaining when you put her around Shepard and Liara.
An intense ending to this latest chapter with the Mindoir reminiscing but it's great to see a Shepard that is able to be open and vulnerable with Liara. Great story so far and I look forward to reading more!
