Sorry, just thought of it in passing when moriarty left the villain line and I was really pleased w myself.
So can Mycroft change? I'm betting on him being a bird of some sort. Something large enough to carry his umbrella (cause it's not really clothes and it's not like he would leave it).
I wish you had somehow put Irine being a fox as relevant to the story (or had her change in it). Idk if you mentioned it outside the one chapter title (my fault if you did and I missed it; both me and my dad tend to gloss over details for the big pic when we read). She's just kinda there and annoying, which I love, but there are lots of ways she can be annoying as a fox too. (Now I'm imagining poor Greg walking in on the three (four if you include Mycroft) of them arguing as animals and just turning around and muttering "not my division" on the way out and it is lovely.)
Actually Irine could have brought a lot more story w her. You could have Mycroft, Greg, and Sallys' reactions to the strange lady living in 221b. Maybe a blog post? Also: Anderson. His real value is in the comedy relief we get when the a$$-hole gets put in place.
I really like how you did a Johnlock w/out it being mostly Johnlock. Like, it was not a story of or with johnlock, but a story that had johnlock in it. I would've liked it either way, honestly. I'm not picky. But I'm always impressed when instead of having it be a romance story or having a story with romance thrust upon it it's just a story and love happens to be a naturally occurring part of it. Having Gregs pov helped a lot in doing that I think.
Yeah, this whole thing was just really good.

Also: did Moriarty know or not that they could turn into animals? Cause I thought that he did, but the way he reacted to John and the lack of instructions to the snipers makes me think he didn't and it's really funny because he probably pulled out that collar and was like "wow, they're really kinky in the bedroom" and had probably some weird thought about that and immature laughing about the word "pet" were his last thoughts before he got violently ripped apart by a Johndog.
Also, how does shifting work w clothes? Cause it seems like their clothes shift, but the collar doesn't. Does other "jewelry" shift? (I'm mostly thinking dogtags and earnings here (Irene)) What about Sherlock's scarf?
Assuming neck sizes change when they shift, how does John know how big to put his collar on? Does it shift some w him? How could Sherlock even get his on (it would be to big once he shrank)?

Anyway, random questions, but really you do excellent storytelling.

whenever im walking down the hall my friends will always mess with my hair or srach my head or pat it and always act like im a dog or even scrach under my chin... all of my friends... even say lily u being a good girl? ... i thought it was even normal for a while cause im so used to it but then someone school asked if i was a werwolf or something then asked why my friends do this, an i just... -sigh- ... me and my friends r weird

I am really glad that I found this story.
I loved it from the moment Sherlock entered the crime scene together with John in his dog form, Lestrades reactions were wonderful amusing and I couldn't stop grinning when John stated "I need a collar." - I could literally SEE the scene in front of my inner eye: the way John said it in his matter-of-fact voice - Brilliant.

I generally like stories where people have the ability to shift into an animal and you made it even BETTER by discribing those little mannerisms Sherlock and John adopted from their own animals.

The final scene with our bad guy... it was wonderful to read, to... to feel the anger about Moriarty comming around their secret and your conclusion was simply fulfilling (I don't want to spoil 'everything') and then Sherlocks "John, move!" and I can tell you: My heart made a short stop. Really wonderfully done. Respect.
