this fic is so melancholy as if Aziraphale has hope that maybe Crowley will come back or maybe its just his vessel (like crowleys been separated from the serpent he initially possessed and is trapped in hell or something) would be interesting sequel if it was

I think this fic is so sad but

I have a headcannon where both zira and Crowley are friends with the horsemen just due to sheer amount of times they'll have crossed paths (among with loads of secret religious and mythical organisations) and I read a GO/Supernatural or maybe Avengers (unsure on that might have been a SPN/Avengers xover officially) fic once where Death was keepin GO Crowley around (in the deathrealm, I guess since he was dead to Gabriel and SPN Crowley) for company and the like and it rather stuck with me. so I like to think that after this Crowley just hangs around Death waiting for Death to need to use him for something, like stopping people from interrupting Deaths duties or another apocalypse, or for Aziraphale to join him if he's not in Hell

I just love how you have written this and the situation Aziraphale finds himself in. It is just so tragic that through everything, Crowley is stuck in his snake form and unable to remember his friend.

The idea is terribly, heart-breakingly cruel and brilliant, because it seems like the sort of punishment one side or the other would cook up.
