This was great - I was thinking of writing a post-ep follow up to Castle's little smile. Mine was coming out way more dirty than this though! haha

I really like the way he convinces her to make that first move and kiss him. So lovely and sincere.

I like your ending better than the shows ;) Their honesty with each other is refreshing and essential to their relationship lasting.

Just what I wanted Kate straddling Castle. She should be the only one from now on. Nicely done having him explain how he feels.

A perfect post ep piece, beautiful. A little step on their (hopefully) long journey in life together. I loved how you worked it out for them, subtly pointed out that Lanie will have figured it out by now, and echoing Martha's sentiments that Castle will not be able to just "turn in off". Sigh. The amazing thing I think is that they are starting to realize that this could be it for them, and they are actually having real relationship talks now. Still the banter, teasing, innuendo goes on, but they are also able to discuss serious issues now without breaking. Progress! Your piece was an excellent companion to the ep. Thank you :)

Yeah, this makes sense... obviously. I mean, I can picture it. (already said that to Nic's story, but it also fits here.)

Ah, lovely as always! Sorry for the lack of reviews lately, but I'm reading every word with pleasure!

Now this is how you resolve a B-plot! I mean, I liked "Cloudy With a Chance of Murder," but the ending seemed unnecessarily angsty. Yeah, their relationship has to be on a downlow due to Gates and others getting involved and either getting Castle removed from the 12th Precinct or his involved curtailed...but the amount of "it's gonna fail" bait and switch (and so soon!) seemed like certain cards were being played way too early to try and get humour from Castle and Beckett struggling to keep things under wraps.

But this? This repairs the missteps and lets Castle be a mature but romantic figure by pointing out it will stink more if he's back to S1 Castle re: dating random hotties because of their friends and family knowing Rick's feelings for Kate. Amazing work!

Oh I love his speech about not being able to hide it especially when he's in the precinct and with the guys and I love that you brought it up. I get why it's a secret and stuff but I also just love the notion that he's like screw it. I'm not gonna pretend - and more importantly no one is going to buy - that I'm not madly in love with you. Sigh. Makes me all CLENCHY and warm. (So appreciate all the words my phone like to capitalize. It's my own little mini me.)

yeah... I don't buy that Lanie was really asking who she had sex with. She knows how they feel about each other and if Lanie really believed that Kate had sex with someone else then I do not think that she'd call her out on it in front of Castle and she would not believe that Castle would act like his world didn't just fall apart. Castle's reaction, if nothing else, was a dead giveaway to Lanie that they were having sex. The only question is why Lanie didn't pounce on that more.

Sadly, I think Marlowe expects us to believe that Lanie really doesn't realize. I really really hope that isn't the case and that when they do all officially find out we learn that they've known for a while. I don't believe that all these detectives aren't gonna pick up on the fact that two people so clearly in love are all of a sudden forgetting to bring each other coffee and sleeping with other people.

i love EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS, affronted castle and affronted beckett and the tv and the everything, my thoughts are not in words right now but LOVE.

I feel like I just watched the missing end scene from the ep.

I love the sweetness of this, just them coming to an understanding and the way he knows her. So good.

Yeah, that's what I want to see - them working things out!

This started as Rick trying to distract Kate and forget what happened with him and the entertainment reporter. You went about it in the right way and I enjoyed what you had Rick do with Kate especially watching Temptation Lane.

The phone calls from Chip gave them a flip sided look at what happened with Rick. Plus it further cemented that they needed to talk about keeping their relationship quiet or not and how they go about keeping it secret if they so choose to do so.

The ending drove that point home and it was nice that Kate made the first move.
