I'd love to read a second part to this where johns reaction is included! You wrote this so well!

You write this Sam so perfectly. I think this Sam was canon for a very long time, or very close to, especially pre-series if that even makes sense. And with what's going on now in the show, I find it hard to believe it isn't canon Sam now, even though we never see any of it. The show is a whoel lot of hurt Sam no comfort, so I think it's about what we don't see, and about those brilliant glimpses we get when Jared knocks it out of the park with those rare scenes he gets to express Sam emotions about what has happened to him. So yeah, you write Sam perfectly. xo

Nicely done. I like the way you laid out Sam's thoughts, showing the numbness (personally, I've always thought the kid actor for Jared looked sad and numb in his teen years) without it sounding whiney.

Well written, well detailed, the feelings working how one would imagine feelings work in the Winchester family. The ending was super ambiguous and I'm left wondering if that was on purpose or if you were at some point planning on writing more.
