I can totally buy the Peter Parker featured in the MCU as Tony Stark's illegitimate child. Obviously, you aren't using that version of Spiderman, as this fanfic technically predates his admission the the MCU...but it does explain his relationship with Tony Stark quite a bit.

Wow! This is so amazing, but I figured out another way to find the animals. What if after they got a hold of the metal, they tried to figure out the frequency of it. After they kniw the frequency, they could scan the city for other things with the same frequency which would show the avengers where the animals are and the place with the most traces of frequency, would be where the culprit is hiding. Though I gotta say, your way is much more creative.
