I am so grateful that you chose to write a story that deals with the unspoken pain underneath Sherlock's actions and reactions. I think for a really complicated man he gives a lot away if people would just look and listen as he does:-)

Oh man, brilliant! Really, very very sad but so well-done. I love the way Sherlock's past and childhood are hinted at without it being obvious, and John's reaction to the whole thing is very in-character. You also seem to have pretty much the exact same characterisation/psychological profile for Sherlock as I have, which is always a joy to read. Real proper emotional Sherlock, thank god! I've been getting so sick of all those fics where he's a true sociopath or, worse, ridiculously childish. You've got just the right mix of strange eccentricities and hidden angst to make this feel like the Sherlock I know and love though, and I honestly can't even convey how happy that makes me.

Anyway just really well-written, beautifully characterised and overall a great read. Thanks so much!

Very well done. I like how you managed to delve a bit into Sherlock's past whilst still retaining the mystery - so many writers don't, which always irritates me as the mystery is an integral part of his character. Everyone's in character.

I'm personally hoping for a continuation!

This was beautiful and sad and words cannot describe it. With fics like this I always hope for a sequel, it never happens but you know, if you ever get the urge there's at least one person who wont be adverse to it :D
