| DarkHououmon chapter 24 . 6/3/2013 Part of the ending disappointed me. Namely Yumi's actions. It was too predictable. The story gave very strong hints that she was going to betray him, so when it happened, I wasn't shocked at all. I thought it would have been more interesting and surprising if she had tried to save him instead but failed. That I would have enjoyed more, to see Yumi try to save someone she hated rather than turn her back on them. I have a feeling the sequel will have Yumi getting a taste of her own medicine, as I'm sure Ulrich and the others would hate her for what she did, perhaps even kick her out of the group. I imagine Ulrich telling her the same things she told Odd, a sort of "what goes around comes around". I did enjoy the story overall, although admittingly I didn't like Yumi's portrayal or the tension between her and Odd. I'm not one for love drama like that, and it felt a little out of place given the situation they were in. I would have thought they would be so focused on the life-and-death situation that the "Ulrich is mine, not yours!" mindset would be pushed back and out of their minds, at least for the time being. |
