The problem I had in the story (and in history itself) was that I was seriously doubtful that the Egyptians would so happily accept a foreign king. They had, quite recently in context, ended a rule of foreigners (the Hyskos), and I doubt that after a Pharaoh like Akhenaten (who turned Egypt completely upside down), the Egyptian people would jump at the notion at a foreign king. That said, I didn't doubt Zannanza's sincerity, but if he was too be recognized as a Pharaoh, he'd have to completely immerse himself in Egyptian culture. And I mean COMPLETELY. He'd have to take an Egyptian name, adopt the Egyptian religious pantheon, and (if only as a formality) sever his links with the Hittite Empire, as many Egyptians would view this as Egypt just becoming a vassal state of Hattsua. I'm sure the Hittites wouldn't have been happy about an Egyptian ruling as their king either. I can honestly understand Ramses' grievances.

That said, this is a good story, and I think you nail the character's perfectly.

Zannanza is definitely one of my favorite characters and actually cried when he died. I'm glad this breathes some life into him. thanks for sharing! :)

Damn this is good. I love "what if" stories and this is one of the biggest "what ifs" in one of my favorite mangas. Besides, what is the Point of a time-travel story involving magic if you can't take a few liberties with history?

On a technical level you are an excellent writer, and it doesn't hurt that you apparently have the characters down flat too. I'm a bit worried about what you have in store for Ramses. I honestly don't Think he would betray his Pharaoh or anything, even if it was a foreigner, but he seems to have plans on doing just that. So far he hasn't done anything out of character though so I shouldn't judge.

I doubt you will ever turn this into the sprawling Epic a twist like this could easily become, but I sincerely hope you will write a bit more. It seems like such a waste to not have at least one chapter where Zannanza is reunited with Kail and Yuri.

This definitely needs more attention. I was devastated when Zannanza died, I was so looking forward to his rule in Egypt and meeting Ankhesenamen!

Anyway, has he met Nefertiti yet? I haven't finished the manga yet, but I was under the impression that she's another version of the Queen. Also, how will this story affect cannon? You're giving the two enough time to develop their relationship, but I wonder how that will change things. I doubt Egypt will go to war with Hittites now that Zannanza is there, unless Nefertiti or the Queen does something to him.

In any case, I hope to see more of this story!

I'm so glad Zannanza is alive here. I cried when he died in canon. This is what I imagine what the relationship would have been like if he arrived safely, but I wonder if he's strong and shrewd enough to deal with Nefertiti.

Ooooh it's been a while since the last update so thank you for updating! This is a wonderfully unique piece that goes over the "what if Zannanza lived?" and the chapters are absolutely lovely especially with how they showed how Zannanza's and Ankehsenamen's relationship slowly progressed to this point.
