This chapter made me cry. I for real wept because all the desperation Light is showing and L's resignation is just so tragic. It's perfect.

I can't lie - even though we literally have first person POV for Light, I'm still not sure what he feels towards L. Unless it's this twisted "Yeah I almost really care for you but the second you aren't doing what I wish, I hate you" type thing. So confused, but I love this so much.

First of all, thank you so much for writing this story. It is phenomenal. HOLY SH**. Like I have never read a piece of fiction that brought out so many emotions in me as this one did. I laughed so hard (ugly laughter too) throughout so much of this, genuinely cried a few times, yelled my ass off at certain parts, stared at it speechlessly in shock, and fell head over heels in love with it like no other. I adore this more than I can describe to you. I think if I had your extraordinary writing talent, I would be able to properly express just how incredible you, your insanely compelling writing, and this magnificent and super inspiring story really is.

Totally blew me away. It was such a wild ride and the best ride. I consider the only thing good about this pandemic and being quarantined and socially distanced is that I had time to read this lmao. Your mind must be a really impressive place, you know that? I can't imagine anyone else managing to pull this off the way you did with the style you did and GOD. Never seen this type of exceptional writing style anywhere and so deep into the psychology. In fanfiction or regular fiction. The portrayal of each character and the setup and EVERYTHING and psychology and politics amazes me.

And your dialogue is flawless, original, engaging, and so entertaining and heartbreaking and exciting and UGH I JUST LOVE THE HELL OUT OF ALL OF THIS STORY. And the best part for me was reading it all through Light's POV. He's my problematic favorite from Death Note and he felt so in character and every thought of his was so much fun to read I could hardly stand it because he was so alive.

Like I was in the head of an actual person. There is so much that can be said for your outstanding portrayal of Light. I love him. My favorite by far ever. As is the AU you created. Every thought of his was so interesting. This also made me see certain things differently, think about certain things in ways I hadn't considered before. His relationship with L was something else too. WOW. I can't even go there because I'm still reeling about their relationship and don't even know where I'd start, but it makes me smile uncontrollably just thinking about all the beauty I just read. I'm beyond happy I found this story!

I wish I could leave a more coherent review worthy of this story, but I'll leave the writing in your capable hands and just hope I conveyed how much I adore this story, thoroughly enjoyed it, and how grateful I am that you created it and posted it online. This last chapter feels like it could be the ending, but the work doesn't say 'completed.' So I'm going to follow it while secretly hoping it never ends. Knowing me, I'm also going to be rereading this over and over for years to come because this story is out of this world and completely worth every second. I'm proud to call this story my favorite and I hope you become a famous author one day.

Oh my, I really dreaded L been gone by the time Light got to his apartment. Like he ran away from him so many times before. Luckily Light wasn't daydreaming… I was relieved. Been reading this story for more than a month now, and it's nearing the (hopefully happy) end. As a side note, the fanart of Lyovan on tumblr complements this original intake on DN. Lovely. And the French bits are surely something I can relate to. Merci beaucoup. Au revoir...

This story broke me more than anything I ever thought would. I can't decide if I love it or hate it. I cried, I laughed, I reveled, and I mourned. Incredible writing, I think I'm just shocked because I didn't realize this wasn't finished. I hope someday you come back to this.

I'm not the kind of person to sit down and write my opinions on fanfiction, but I have never felt such a need to do just that after I just finished this fanfiction. I love how you develop these characters in a way that feels so personal and original, but also in a way that keeps up with the original death note. I remember when I was reading the first few chapters, I was genuinely shocked by the way Light was written as this completely emotionless, unfeeling person, and then develops into being the exact opposite of that. I can't tell whether to question his sanity or anyone elses, and the tension that builds while you're witnessing him dive into complete insanity is truly frightening. I really feel like I am reading the thoughts of a living person, especially the way he communicates with the audience after any dialogue is spoken. It lets us know how he's really feeling and it feels so real. ANd I love when he goes on these senseless tangents about absolutely nothing, normally I would be like why am I reading this haha but his character makes absolutely everything interesting to read. You really have made me love first person story telling. Also, the last line of this fic leaves me so nervous and so excited and is probably the best example of an open ending I have ever seen. I know what's going to happen, or I have an idea of what will happen, and it frightens me to my core.

Another thing I loved about this fic is how there are constant callbacks to specific lines of dialogue that happened chapters and chapters ago. Everything that happens in this story has weight to it, these characters feel like real people who latch onto things that are said - positive or negative or either. These characters feel like real people put in some crazy circumstance. L and Light feel like a caricature of an abusive relationship - like they were being put through a fun house mirror.

I just wanted to say thank you for creating such a wonderful piece. It was a ride through and through. Sometimes I lost sight of the characters, sometimes I cried over the characters and felt genuine worry for them, and sometimes I just had a genuine laugh from whatever ridiculousness was occurring. All I have to say is I love this and I love your sense of humor, your style of writing, your ability to develop and give background to characters, and maybe i just love you.. in general?

I just finished this again and it's still the best fic I've ever read. I hope you never finish it because I want it to go on forever AND hope you do finish it someday for the accomplishment and just to see what kind of crazy shit you come up with next. I've read this a couple of times and there's always something new to catch. Your dialogue is especially fucking amazing. I can't say it enough: This is the best goddamn story ever. I almost wish THIS was the source material. I'd love to see this as a movie or a show. Best of luck finishing it.

I have to say, I’m not really a fan of the Light/L pairing but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your work nonetheless. I just love how corrupt and horrible every character is, and you’re right in that it is very reminiscent of American Psycho.

I'm always thrilled when you update because this story remains one of my all time favourite stories across all fandoms! I've told you before that your style is unparalleled and the whole story a masterpiece! The words you use are sometimes so achingly beautiful, the relationship between Light and L so violent and yet Light's musings often make me laugh out loud because it really is all quite amusing in the end!
