A lot of the good SoMa fanfics I've read like this are all from souls point of view. (When he first tells her he loves her and all) so I liked reading it from Maka's. it made it interesting to see her panic and I loved how soul found out through the resonance!

Totally agree with your version of Maka. Add that to her parental history, she would totally be looking out to avoid such situations. She's smart and plans for her future and thus would certainly plan to avoid opening herself to be vulnerable to heartbreak like her parents.

I absolutely love this new side of Maka you introduced and I agree wholeheartedly that she wouldn't be as oblivious to her feelings as many of us interprete. At this point, dense!Maka is but a head canon lol

Oh man, this was such a wonderful read. I love Maka's thoughts, I love how she is aware of her feelings and her reactions and the way she behaves all seem so Maka-like. I just noticed it now that this is set on complete and while I must admit I would have totally not minded an M-rated continuation of this, I am always amazed by people who can write a oneshot that does the characters justice. Never did it feel like to me that Soul or Maka were OOC, Soul giving her space was nice and I believe also something he did for himself to sort out through his own feelings. I also like how you've included her mom in this, that she took her time to attend her daughter's big day and even though I am always a little wary of Maka's mom as she is completely absent in the canon, their sweet mother-daughter moment made me smile.
