The best ways to use obsidian are spearheads and arrowheads, though short knives and obsidian-edged macuahuitls are also possible. I studied geology as an undergrad so I can’t help but find this stuff *really* distracting. Hope you’re doing well in this crazy pandemic. |

| silverrain-shiningsun chapter 63 . 4/29 Gendry is a smith AND a knapper? That really doesn’t make sense. Steel arrowheads and blades made the skill of knapping obsidian or flint arrowheads and blades obsolete. I’m sorry to complain again but misunderstanding the properties of obsidian and the skills required to work it drives me mad in so many fan fictions and this could easily be fixed by adding a bit character with the skills for this. Someone who works with stone (stonemason or sculptor) is likely to have the right skill set. |
