Sad that this is already abandoned. I just want to praise how well you have written and conveyed the emotions of the characters. It almost made me empathize with Klaus' loneliness and Caroline's pain, and the pain was just so hard to read, especially the rooftop scene with Elijah. It helps that it's written in different POVs, it didn't made me hate Klaus that much (though I agree with Kol, he is an idiot). But, I did hate Tatia with intensity. (Caroline could have pulled some hair and bald her a bit. Whatever Rebekah said, she still stole Klaus from our girl.)

My imagination is running pretty wild on what happened in the present (or future?) that would have put the Originals in darkness. Well, not hard to guess but I am curious on how it affected Klaus and Caroline's relationship. And as much as I adore sweet innocent Caroline, I worship the strong, resilient, witty and badass version I'm sure she would have been in this fic. And yes, I understand why you wrote Caroline this way and I agree, she wasn't weak, she was just so young- and obviously, we need character development- not just from Klaus but Caroline herself. (A fit some fanfic writers overlook. No hate though. )

Seven years later, and I’m still rereading this... hoping that one day you will update it. Or if not, at least let us put us out of our misery and let us know what your plans for the story were, how it was supposed to end, or even include some drafts like what Fadingtales did with her abandoned stories.

With TVD over now you could take it in so many directions. You don't have to stick with canon if you didn't like the turn it made. I will be a klaroline shipper for life, and I can quite literally see in my minds eye this being one of the best stories about them out there. Loads of authors have already named this story as one of their favorites and disparage that it hasn't been updated. Sorry if I sound too desperate (because I am), I understand that you are "building a life for yourself" and it isn't the easiest thing to do, but I really really wish you would find time to continue this because trust me, I've seen my fair share of fanfictions and seldom are as good as yours.
