Reviews for Why no Trial?
Guest chapter 1 . 3/4/2017
Something like this is the only explanation that makes sense. Sirius is the only one who went to Azkaban without a trial. He would have been Harry's guardian, and therefor an obstacle to Dumbledore's plans. Therefor he had to be removed.
All the real Death Eaters either had a trial, or some other opportunity to bribe themselves free. Even if it was really certain that he was guilty, it would make sense to question him, see trial of Karkaroff.

Evil old man!
noreenklose chapter 1 . 8/18/2016
I like stories where Dumbles thinks he is good, but he actually is evil "with good intentions".
Thanks for writing.

Hey!
Interesting idea, though I can't see it happening.
I always thought that it was simply because of the bad timing - right after the downfall of Voldemort when the entire community was in uproar :p The case seemed so simple...
But maybe it's just me - I always felt that most fanfic writers like to bash Dumbledore a bit too much...
thonez chapter 1 . 4/23/2015
could be good start of story.
ARedHair chapter 1 . 11/11/2014
Wow, what an interesting twist at the end. I wonder how many previously released guilty people were imprisoned and whether any innocents besides Black were imprisoned. This could spawn some interesting story lines. How would wizarding society develop without Death Eaters? Would Umbridge rise to prominence without them?
Mary-Sue chapter 1 . 4/8/2014
Sadly, this would not surprise me at all. Hey, has anyone actually written a real fic about the time leading up to the Potter's deaths? I mean the whole Secret Keeper time period, not Hogwarts. It would be kind of interesting to see how everyone acts.
ChordOverstreetFan chapter 1 . 4/2/2013
Greater good...what greater good?! No GOOD person would let a man get away without a trial, and I always did feel that something was off about that. Crouch never struck me as someone that would let that happen. He put his own son in Azkaban because the evidence was against him. He would have seen the sheer lack of evidence for both sides as enough of a reason for Sirius Black to get a trial.

The idea was fantastic and interesting. The writing was average. I liked the idea so much that I wish I had more compliments as regards the writing, but it wasn't a story, it was an explanation. That's great for a livejournal thesis but not so much for actual tales to enthrall the fandom. With that said, I was greatly impressed by the interpretation and creativity.

The only review I can really give is practice, practice, practice. Write everyday and you'll be so far better equipped to bring your fabulous creativity to the masses. And bonus if it involves Barty Crouch Sr. I'm a Roger Lloyd-Pack fan and his characterization was the sole thing which had me looking back at the character, putting away initial prejudice which is so hard to do with Rowling. She's very good at getting you to follow a pattern of emotional rises and falls.

Thanks for writing this, though. I wan entertained!
ShadeDurza chapter 1 . 11/30/2012
I never even considered this scenario. I think it is highly plausible given Crouch's propensity for rules and the fact that he convicted his own son (He should have excused himself from that for conflict of interest but I'll overlook that). Excellent job!
Kairan1979 chapter 1 . 11/24/2012
That makes awful sort of sense. With Albus and his "greater good", who needs Voldemort?
GodofGreed chapter 1 . 10/19/2012
This makes a lot of sense actually.
Kat A. Coop chapter 1 . 9/7/2012
So far really GREAT! Will you continue? If so I'll read it!
InAnnaCat chapter 1 . 9/7/2012
Well that was very short but very interesting. Dumbles is really an inflexable monster for denying Surius a trial just so Harry can be tortured at the dursleys like dambles wants.
ObsessedWithHPFanFic chapter 1 . 9/7/2012
Okay, but it seems a bit incomplete. It does appear that Albus really wants Sirius out of the way. Thanks for sharing!
