I adore this entire story, and I am marking it so I can find it again later to reread it and to keep an eye out for any future updates! I do so hope inspiration strikes again and enough to keep this going~!

I'm so sorry about your computer crash problem! That's awful!
I got so upset about things like that in the past that I try to triple backup everything now. Anything that matters in my OneNote Notebooks is automatically synced with a copy in the Cloud and I have most of everything else copied onto a big memory stick and a portable hard drive both. I'm really glad they make tiny memory sticks now, ones that barely stick out of the side of my laptop so I can leave one in most of the time, which saves a lot of effort in doing that.

*coos* I love the little scene of the sweet little group safely tucked away in Zelda's tent. I hope they get to have some more time like that after the fight is done. Aleema would probably be delighted to continue sharing her reading lessons with Link. It would be adorable.

It's pretty much impossible to make the Shadow Temple not scary without delving into outright parody. It really really is. As much as I want to eventually play this and the other games myself, I do not look forward to this specific one at all. I was terrified of skeletons as a child, and those "endless abyss" type bottomless pits in videogames always make my chest hurt with visceral fright. Even after I figured out how to tweak the brightness and contrast on my PC to actually see the platforms in one game I have, I always tremble while I navigate around the edges of the biggest pit. And me being very much the type to delight in the background worldbuilding and embracing new cultures, I will not be able to stop thinking about how it's a giant goddamned tomb for a sadly dying race, corrupted from a cherished shelter to a hellhole. I want to love it but this specific Temple is practically designed to traumatize me as effectively as possible! XD

the "Moon and Sun" thing does rather fit, given the dramatic contrast in their common appearances. Classic Hylians with lightish skin and gold hair (or at least the most famous ones), living and shining in the bright sunlight. Classic Sheikah with duskier coloring and living and thriving in the shadows and the night, ever faithfully following and aiding the others no matter the separation between them. Always a little bit apart, not quite considered the same, no matter their interactions.

Amidst all of the fretting and angst, I'm steeling myself by imagining and looking forward to the epic shitfit Link is eventually going to throw to and about Impa and Zelda's actions regarding Sheik. Not letting Sheik recover more after extensive torture? Not okay. Planning to run him out of the land after pressing him to do so very much for everyone? Not okay no matter what a damn prophecy says. Letting him think for even a minute that he doesn't deserve to think of himself even a fraction, no matter if there is a higher priority? Not okay, especially when there isn't an immediate urgent need to throw himself in front of an attack to save someone. So while mostly I think Link should be mad at Impa, he may only have the chance to yell at Zelda since Impa gets to escape into Sage-dom.

*coos* They're so cute! I'm so glad they've gotten better at being freely cute and cuddly when it's just them.

I like the idea of Link favoring certain unexpected speech patterns and mannerisms, like the "sweetheart", because he grew up with someone like Saria for whom it's much more expected. It's a cute little tidbit I'm adding to my headcanon now, thank you!

I spent the entire chunks of our glimpses of Captive-Sheik wanting to hug him protectively, or better yet, have Link get to do that for a good long while.

Ruto is so lucky Sheik takes not only his responsibilities so seriously, but all of the trappings and propriety stuff. Otherwise, the most practical and expedient solution to the Ruto problem I can see would have been to tie her up somehow so she'd stop running off, and gag her. But Sheik would never so that to a sage, and probably not even to his "sister" what with his insistence on Proper Standing. He also might not have had anything handy enough to successfully restrain even a young Zora, so...

I've been reading this story for years, it seems, and i really hope you would continue and finish it some day.
Take your time though. Inspiration is hard to come by sometimes and i don't want you to feel forced. You are an excellet writer and your story is ridiculously good, it would be great to finally know what happens in the end and not just speculate, but take your time.
This story has been in my bookmarks for years and it can stay there for a few more. And if this story doesn't interest you anymore, I hope you continue writing because you really do have a talent in it.
