Bravo! This is fantastic work. I was extremely impressed by the dialogue and how very much in character everyone was. You developed the relationship between Mukuro and Hiei especially well. The plot was also excellent-exciting, suspenseful, and well-paced.

I agree with what another reviewer has said about the classes of the demons. I also found it a bit of a stretch to believe that Shikei is so strong that Mukuro couldn't easily defeat her-the canon makes it very clear that Mukuro is outrageously strong and most likely the strongest demon alive after Raizen's death. Still, I get that it's impossible to write a good story if the main characters are nigh invincible.

Overall, great job. I loved reading this.

Technically, Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei are all S class demons. S Class means, essentially, "anything the spirit world defense forces cannot handle" which ranges from Sensui at the low end to Raizen in his prime at the opposite extreme. Since this class has such a wide definition, it is WAY bigger in spread than the others, even tough it has fewer people who actually fall into its domain. (Also, according to implications from Sensui and others, almost everyone who is an S class is so powerful that they have to restrain themselves in the human world, because if they ever simply released their full power, to say nothing of actually using it for something, potentially world ending catastrophes would result.)

Raizen's monk and former second in command, Houkushin, is an S Rank demon by his own admission. In addition, during the time when Kurama was working for Yomi, a display can be seen that reveals that Houkushin is roughly equal in power to both Kirin, Mukuro's second, and Shachi, Yomi's second. Thus, all three must therefore be S ranks. (Specifically, very LOW S Ranks, similar somewhat to Sensui)

Yusuke trains against Houkushin and various other assorted S and A rank demons simultaneously over the course of six months. During this time, he easily surpasses them to the point at which he can effortlessly defeat all of them at once. At this point, he has risen to mid-level S class power, FAR more powerful than Sensui and Houkushin, but only roughly 2/3s of the power of the high end S class warriors like the Three Kings.

At the same time, Hiei is thrown into Mukuro's dungeons and forced to fight hundreds of A Class enemies. (The end count of dead is well over five hundred) He starts the fight on even terms with even one of them, as a high end A class, but his energy quickly rises into low, and then middle S class, just like Yusuke, though Yusuke still remains somewhat more powerful than him at this point.

Kurama, meanwhile, also rises in power at some point in the intervening time, to the point at which his Youko form is a mid-level S class, and even in human form he remains a low level S class demon. This is exhibited when he one-hit KOs Shachi.

Incidentally, the group Kurama and Genkai trained - Chu, Rinku, Touya, Jin, Suzuki, and Shishiwakamaru - are all also a low-medium S class since they were able to fight Raizen's friends (All VERY High S class demons, according to Yomi) at least for a little while.

Long story short, calling someone an A class means that those Spirit Defense Force guys from the Sensui arc could kill the person in question if they ganged up, and calling someone an S class means that they could curbstomp the SDF if the fools got in the way. That's pretty much the only qualifier for S class status, since the ranking system is made by the spirit world. Meanwhile, all three of the cast mentioned here are S class because Houkushin is and S class, and Houkushin Shachi Kirin in terms of powerlevel. Shachi was killed by Kurama, Kirin was surpassed by Hiei, and Houkushin and a bunch of other monks couldn't even touch Yusuke in their spars. Therefore, all are S class.

I have spent all of my free time for the past 2 weeks reading your story. You are an excellent writter, the characters didnt seem ofc at all. The ending really shocked me it has put me in a melancholy mood for the rest of the day.

You know when you sent me that thing where you said you were going to blow my mind? Yeah, it happened. This story went from Awesome to Super Fucking Awesome and dayum girl.

First off, ohmygodthebodies. Those poor ladies, and the children, and just teh descriptions of them rifling through the bodies and stuff wow.

Then the ghosts of Hyouga. I would die if I wasn't already dead from the cold. (haha Kuwabara was in a t-shirt.) The whole scene at the house and how you painted images from Rui & Hina's backstory coupled with them being trapped in that dismal place was just beautiful.

Mukuro getting sucked into the snow and them coming out with that bitch's heart? LOVED IT. She's so badass it makes me happy. Plus the little scenes with her and Hiei having heart-to-hearts was once again, so in-character and perfect.

The description of the Hyouga, from the land to the town to the castle was amazing. You got mad creativity, it was so much fun to read.

And Kuwabara declaring his love and valour before the ladies in the cage, and Kurama just being Kurama (especially his thoughts at the end about waking up to a dismal morning: "Kurama thought of the days that would come, and all the silence they would bring" just WHY DO YOU DO THAT TO ME)

And lady let's just say that this morning my man came into the living room and was like WHY ARE YOU CRYING? and I told him to go away. I may be one of the few people that love character death so um yeah, you killed me along with him. Way to end it.

Let's get married.
