Excellent story, well written. In canon!

I loved this! Brilliant writing, and an amazing plot line. Just goes to show that you don't need excitement and battles and lasers going off to have a really deep and involving story line. I love how you explored this theme, this is really good!

Came here from your review of my story, but this is far from mutual backpatting, I promise! I've been thinking about writing 'Enemy' from Kirk's point of view, but now I don't have to. This is so clever - I love the comparison with Spock's eternal struggle. And oh wow, poor Jim - completely un-PC, I know, and rather defeating the object of writing an 'apology' for Rand, but just that one line, 'I have his memories', says everything. Yes, Rand was traumatised, and then badly treated by the rest of the crew - Jim's friends - yet I think the Captain (outside of 1960s canon) would be suffering too, as you have captured with emotion and shading ('I though I knew why I made captain'). Perfect. Thank you.

A wonderful description of th principles of yin and yang, and all so lucidly written. I'm a Spock fan, not a kirk fan, yet both characters drew me on this one. Your style, characterisations and thought processes are spot on for me

Looking forward to it. One of my favourite because of it great potential. The TV show didn't tap its potential by far at that time, alas!

As of 18/11/12 I'm working on a canon inspired Spock POV follow up to City on the Edge of Forever but it will take at least a couple more weeks to publish I reckon. Beautifully written.

A Kirkcentric author is a rare and special thing-particularly a good one, and I really loved how you dug into Kirk's character here. I loved the moment in "The Enemy Within" when Spock compared Kirk's situation with his own, and I loved how you further explored it here. I loved not just the Taoist metaphor, but the molecule metaphor-the idea that the whole Kirk is more than just his light and dark sides, but a whole different thing combined.

Great story, enjoyed very much, keep up the good work.
