Reviews for Equanimity
Chiara Meldis chapter 1 . 6/16
I read it some time ago but totally forgot to review it.
Well, I loved it. Most Ive learned about Faramir and Boromir, is from fanfictions. My favourite fanfics and yours is one as well. So, forgive me for the very late review. Time has come to finally add this story to my favourites.
All the best. ;-)

zookitty chapter 10 . 11/24/2007
That was beautiful! One of the best stories I have ever read. It was touching, well writting and kept me reading to the end! I was holding my breath almost the whole time! I love that you added Gandalf in there...nice touch!

And Denethor really did care for Faramir, it was just painfult to be around him. How sweet!

Blackstar chapter 10 . 6/30/2004
This is an all-around good piece of work. Just remember:

The comma is a wonderful (and powerful) tool - use it carefully. It can enhance the story, making the overall flow smoother. Be careful where you place them.

Have you ever tried writing novel-length fics? I could be wrong (I often am), but I think they would suit your writing style just dandy.

Happy writing!

Sweet A.K chapter 10 . 12/30/2003
That was such a good story! It was amazing, so descriptive, so well written. I loved the plot, and i loved your protrayal of both Faramir, and Boromir. I think you should post a sequal to this story. I loved it. The best LOTR story I have ever read!

Goffer the elf chapter 1 . 6/21/2003
This is great. It is great to see something not to be too much AU, for I don't know, if they ever entered a cave with the rumour of Orcs nearby... Anyhow it's a great fanfic, my favorite for now... Keep writing (Though I don't know what you're writing on now) I have one word for it: BRILLIANT!
Miriath chapter 3 . 6/7/2003
that was another really good story! pleese write more! more more!
Lady Berenice chapter 10 . 5/14/2003
Amazing story! You have all the characterisations down so perfectly. A tiny, tiny nitpick though, if you ever chose to reedit - just how old are Boromir/Faramir? At the beginning, your notes say they're 20/15, but in later chapters they're 18/13 - granted, not anything significant, but otherwise, this story is completely perfect. *Converted to Denethor/Boromir/Faramir stories*
Ainaechoiriel chapter 10 . 5/14/2003
A good adventure story and you handled the capture and torment by the Orcs well. You might want to check it over for typos. I saw some here and there. And I have to admit that the last chapter seemed a bit….well, too easy. I know I can't expect a happy ending between Faramir and Denethor, but it still seemed to abrupt and angst-free right at the end, considing the heaviness of the father-driven angst throughout.
Coriandra chapter 10 . 3/30/2003
So, Faramir went back to get the Horn because he was afraid Boromir would be blamed for losing it. That's understandable, though unwise. Still, the Horn saved their lives by helping Gandalf find them.

That was quite a conservation between Denethor and Gandalf. Faramir must have found Denethor's apparent lack of love heartwrenching. Of course Denethor felt some concern when Faramir fell and would have helped him if Gandalf had not. Still, I doubt Faramir noticed that concern.

I liked the ending, when Faramir learned he didn't have compete with Boromir to earn people's respect. He had already earned Gandalf's by just being himself. Some good at least came out of all this for him. This story was excellent, and I thought you characterized everyone extremely well. Congratulations!
Coriandra chapter 7 . 3/29/2003
Well, I'm back; with more reviews. Chapter 5 was quite a cliff-hanger. I wondered what Boromir was thinking when he challenged Lurbak to a fight with Faramir. He obviously put a great deal of faith in his brother and it paid off. What a frightening experience for Faramir, though.

Paragraph 16(?) of chapter 6 was especially poignant, with Faramir thinking if he was killed his father would rejoice that it was him and not Boromir. Would Denethor really be that heartless? It's hard to image, for me anyway.

Faramir certainly didn't use very good judgment in going back for the Horn, but maybe his fear of his father being angry at him was greater than his fear of the orcs. Or maybe he thought his father would be proud of him for doing it, I wonder. I wondered too, about Boromir's killing Gorburg. It hardly seemed nessicary as the blind orc couldn't have been much of a threat. Would Faramir have approved? I don't think so. Chapter 7 ended with another cliff-hanger. I'll have to read more as soon as I get the chance.
