Ah yes, no matter how much Naruto trains and gets stronger, it's a universal law of fanfics that he'll never be fast enough to stop a half-dead Haku. I can't take their strength seriously if they are barely as strong as Sasuke and untrained Naruto despite their supposedly amazing teamwork and jutsus. Also nice to see that Shino is as useful as Sakura.

Well this story certainly a good read. My only problem is how you nerfed Naruto within this story. I find that Naruto became extremely dependant on Akimi. It allows all of Naruto's acheivemants to be be downplayed significantly. It also extinguishes the individuality of Naruto in the story. It always seems like Naruto can't learn or do anything by himself. A little part of me hoped that Naruto woild honestly fight Gaara by himself and prove that he is strong in his own right but even then Akimi out shines him by a long run. The whole point of that fight in canon was to set up the Tsunade retrieval, Naruto's relationship with Gaara and to confirm Naruto's strength as an individual (in the fact that Sasuke couldn't defeat Gaara). But with your version, it's almost completely pointless. Sarutobi's remark about he should retire was a semi-lazily made excuse for him to step down and look for Tsunade and Naruto's confirmation of strength is not that spectacular. Honestly this story is fantastic, the grammar is good, the OC seems interesting, the relationship seems natural and really and the interactions dont seem forced. I also love how you crafted Naruto's personality. The problem here is just how hard you downplayed Naruto and how Naruto seemed too dependant on Akimi to do anything. If you kept on writing and made Naruto leave and seperate with Akimi in the Akatsuki Training arc in canon and made him develop on his own like in canon, it would fix this problem almost immediately in my opinion.

No matter how much better Naruto is before this fight he almost ALWAYS seems to get sealed, UNLESS he is massively op which is bullshit to me. Even the most powerful being in existence (Kaguya) gets beat by a moment of split attention.

Same evil reviewer as before. Still too much like canon, I jumper several chapters to see if there were any changes or not, and found.. not. Which means that no matter how powerful Naruto becomes, you still wil make things turn out the same as canon, which makes no sence. So, I am shopping reading this fic. You know, you wrote a very good and inspiring story, with believeable changes from canon, but you still keep canon too close to heart. This version of Naruto probably would have saved Zabuza, Haku or both, but I let it go. Then you walk into the same trap so many others walk into; detailed fights in the preliminaries in the chunin exams. If I want to spend hours watching (reading about) boys and girls fighting to the death, I would read the manga or watch the show or find them in fan fiction. At this point the likeness of canon is just too much, and I have just lost interest in keeping reading.

OK. I was going to keep my «mouth» shut, but I can’t ignorere it anymore. You write a very good story, but miss a bit at grammar sometimes. (Sorry, it just annoys me, and if you fix it, your story will just be a good story without some bad grammar:
«The sun had raised» is wrong, you could written «The sun had risen».
And «he did snorted» is double past tense, which is wrong. Just one os needed, lik « he did snort».
The story is really good, dont demens it with bad grammar! Please!.
