Oh the scandal! A prostitute! Poor Charles! He must be so mortiefied now. Even more than before. My poor teddy bear. But I really am so glad Charles and Elsie seem to have smoothed things over and she's "forgiven" him.
Elsie's apology for coming in without waiting for an answer is simply perfect. I can imagine her reacting like this. However, this
"But you do! You are welcome to barge in whenever you like."
is even more perfect. Best line ever. Now, Charles has just to propose...

Oh dear! WHos' this Jenkins woman? And how does she dare assaulting poor Charles like that? Doesn't she know only Elsie is allowed to do these things? *death glare directed to Mrs. Jenkins*
And poor poor Elsie! Now she probably thinks Charles isn't interested in her and will be so hurt while Charles can only really think of her and can't wait to see her. My poor darlings! Love isn't easy.

So loved O'Brien's pov here. I like how she noticed things chaning between them and what she thought of Charles pursuing Elsie. I also find it so perfect she took pleasure in Elsie's misfortunes when angry with her.
As for Charles and Elsie, the goodbyes were so sad and sweet at the same time. I just love how he suddenly becomes more cheerful when she assured him she'd visit him on her half day off. And I loved it even more when Elsie kissed him.
